Last decent conservative band was Lynard Skynard

Go figure

Lynard Skynard got popular because of a couple good songs and an airplane disaster. Other than that, they were no Allman Brothers.

Condi is a classically trained pianist.

So's Keith Emerson and Rick Wakeman.

Were Lynyrd Skynyrd Conservative? I don't think so. So they had a song about the South, and they were from the south. So what?

The song says, "In Birmingham they love the governor. Boo Boo Boo. Now we all did what we could do." ... the Governor of course was George Wallace.

The point of that song was that not everyone in the south is racist, and, um, intolerant.

I've never heard Condi play. maybe there's a reason she's not about to quit her day job.

Ronnie Van Zant supported Jimmy Carter in 1976.

"Things Goin' On" was an anti-vietnam song, and "Saturday Night Special" was an anti-gun song.

During the 2000 election, a radio interviewer asked Johnny Van Zant about the election, and Johnny said, "Why can't we just keep Bubba in there?"

It's no fun guessing. Let's find out.

Ms. Rice is an accomplished pianist. At 15 she performed Mozart's Piano Concerto in D minor with the Denver Symphony Orchestra, her prize for winning a student competition. Until college she intended to pursue music professionally.

Also, is she creative? Has she ever written anything?

Ted Nugent is a hell of a guitarist.
"Hell" is the operative word in that sentence.

Is it that conservatives are poor musicians or that they're in the closet about their beliefs? Does one position make you conservative (ie the Rock For Life bands listed here)? (Oddly enough, David Crosby is both pro-life and pro-abort according to that link. lol)

I'll settle this thread...conservatives are such poor musicians because they have no soul.

There are lot of great Christian conservative musicians. So y'all have no clue what you are talking about.

He isn't a real Conservative though. On top of that, he runs around yelling "Semper Fi", when he never served a day in the military. The only thing he is right about is when he talks about government needing to be smaller...... Scratch that - He loves Bush, and Socialist Governor Perry too, and supports everything they do. Crap, what Conservative thing DOES he like? Oh yea, his stance on Mexicans, that they need to learn the language, and come here legally. That I can agree with, but in most other respects, he is just another Neocon, maybe not a Chickenhawk like most of them (he never served, but I wouldn't call him a coward like most of them), but a Neocon nonetheless. Someone who talks the Conservative talk, but does not walk the Conservative walk on so many issues. I quit the NRA because of people like him and Charlton Heston.

Well I like Ted Nugent. He's a fantastic guitarist, and I believe a guy who lives a healthy, full life. Most people consider him a conservative guy, thats why I threw his name out there. And as a former Marine, I take no offense when people outside the Marine Corps tell me Semper Fi. It may be our motto, but it is an honorable phrase and when people say it, it is a measure of respect given to whatever servicemember(s) you say it to. I personally think Ted Nugent is a much better role model for kids than most of todays musicians. His one downfall, by his own admission, is women. Other than that he is a clean guy IMO.
