We know that Fox News isn't really news, it's propaganda. However, even with propaganda, you need a degree of accuracy. Apparently all of those international organizations are the same to Fox - EU, UN, NAFTA, etc………..

These folks at Faux also have no idea between millions………billions……….trillions……..and use them interchangeably

A typo on a news screen deserves a thread of it's own? Is there anything to suggest the audio was also reporting what the typo read?

We all know Fox sucks.

But how could you see this as anything more than a crawler typo occurring during a live speech?

I catch misspellings from time to time on other channels, too.

Actually, when you phonetically pronounce "European Union", it isn't too hard to see how it can erroneously come out as "UN" rather than "EU" - at least for yanks that don't often use either term in their everyday writing or conversation.

I don't watch television at all anymore.
It's been five or six years at least since I last watched the damned thing.

DirecTV writes to me all the time with the 'we want you back' literature.
(I had formerly kept my DirecTV account active all year, just so I could see the NFL games on Sunday via their Sunday Ticket), but that too has long since gone by the wayside.

Television news (all stripes, all networks) stopped being objective news many years ago.
Now they are all shameless cheerleaders and propagandists for one Party or the other.
It's all rubbish anymore.

I get my news from the internet, and even then, I check the news from at least ten different sources a day.
(Stern.de, Israel National News, CNN, Fox News, CBS, NBC, ABC, BBC, Spiegel.de, News.com.au, and Yahoo)

Knowing what I know about each site, re; their editorial policies and political leanings, I can evaluate the news stories from an objective lens, and somewhere in there I can divine the truth.

Too simple.
:)

This thread makes me miss pb -- where is he?

That now, that would be news.

So they confused one Socialist organization with another.

Hmm. Seems a bit of Fox Derangement Syndrome has shown itself.

That's not a typo.

No crawler typo here........but one of the "talking heads" on a talk show portion of Faux........ and other panel members agreeing or repeating the same misinformation..........

Great post...........

I do the same........

And tell folks if you want to really know what going on in the US read the foreign press.........with Google translate there is nothing you cannot read....and the translations are accurate to a fault

....and how long did it take for Faux to correct that...........all too long.........

It's no wonder why Faux devotees seem to be walking around in a fog

Actually most Americas have as little use for the EU as they do for the UN. Interchangeably worthless organizations. Who cares?

I do exactly the same. I haven't watched television in prob more than a decade.

The UN:
A paper tiger that passes sanctions and resolutions that a single vote can torpedo, and if not, countries are free to ignore without consequences, as Iran and North Kora have with their most recent missile test. And then, there's the on going AGW fiasco, which is little more than a massive wealth transfer scheme.

So, yeah. Who cares? I guess. To a point.

Evidence?

I don't think you know what a "typo" is.

"Typo" is short for "typographical error," when you mean to type one thing and an errant keystroke leads to something else.

This was just a good, old-fashioned mistake. Very likely, one with no malicious intent, but a mistake nonetheless. Not a typographical error.
