If invaders just happen to be standing at the wrong place at the wrong time, one of the "combat mechs" might fall on them. I don't see how this could fail!

Actually I was being silly, and pretending that actual futuristic combat mechs were hidden inside them.

I get that you were joking! However I just looked it up and saw that I was mistaken about the "extinction" of the Rapa Nui people. European diseases reduced them to just 111 still living there, but population has recovered since.
