We have not hated a guy named "Cruz" for 55 years. And, we did not fight a war to dethrone a "Rubio." But, we have had instilled in us a deep hatred for Castro and Hussein.

So what you're saying is "righties" are too stupid to know that Julian Castro is not the fellow from Cuba?

By the way, I don't know anyone who has a deep hatred for Cuba or Castro. Most of us in this country weren't even born when the problems with that country went down. Saddam Hussein was a much more recent character in history.

Yes they have. And your point?

I simply mentioned he spoke Spanish, which is a plus since it will allow him to capitalize on the taxpayer money the left has handed out to pander to this demographic.
Obviously, The Dem-Socialist was being ''tongue-in-cheek'', sarcastic ... A conservative would miss this ... and then have a little nastiness for the ''left'' .

But NOT me ..NO deep hated .. but for ignorance and fear .. I think we are progressing ..imagine a Castro for VP ..and that SOB Hussein he did keep "ISIS'' under control, until we upset the apple cart ..

LOL.

Or not...

But thank you for your opinion on what another anonymous poster is thinking.

What was with the Barrack HUSSEIN Obama meme that kept popping up over the past 8 years? I rest my case.

I take it you never soiled your mind on FreeRepublic. There are a lot of Righties who can't let go of the Castro hate.

Nope. He is on Trump's shortlist. Trump, after all, can't be too choosy as no one is going to want that job.

Lol what a nice comeback... the old 'nu uh!!!'

Hildabeast lovers really are pathetic

That part was a lame attempt at humor, but it also eliminates Warren. they'll go with someone who brings a specific "identity" that they want represented and not the best qualified.

Yes, and the demographic they need to secure are Millennials and Left Independents. That's the demographic that Warren or Sanders brings in, but she's clearly not going for Sanders. So it's Warren, or Hillary risks a vital part of her constituency (Certainly vital to Barrack being voted in twice) not showing up to vote for her.

Warren could never run after Hillary. She is in her late 60s now. In 8 years, she would be almost 75. Her chance of being president is over. She could have won handily this time had she run.

I agree that she'd be the oldest president, but alternatively maybe she could primary Hillary in 2020. Unlikely perhaps, but she'd be Bernie's age when she ran for president. I think, overall, I think she could at least open the door to the DNC for the progressive left. I think the major player for the Progressive Left is Alan Grayson, he's young enough that he'll be the exact right age for when the Progressive Left controls enough of the Democratic party that they can keep the DNC from vetoing them.

I never called him "Barack HUSSEIN Obama". So I have no idea why you're asking about that meme and saying "I rest my case". You never made a case, unless it's the very incorrect assumption that "righties" are too stupid to know that Julian Castro isn't the man from Cuba.

good grief. I never said you called Obama Hussein. But, just about everyone else on the right certainly has.

Yea Republican presidential and/or vice presidential nominees never spoke spanish or attempted to speak spanish!

To some Republicans, Mexican or Spanish anything, except for food, is the Devil.

To be honest, I really think the establishment dems are trying to rid themselves of these progressives. They don't seem to appreciate that they are bringing new and younger members to the party. Oh sure they like them when they are on the same page but when there is disagreement, they throw them to the wolves. Look at Tulsi Gabbard and her conflict with Wasserman Schultz and now how Harry Reid is saying he will do anything to keep Grayson from winning. Sanders came out and said the exact things the dems have been saying for years, but suddenly they were "pie in the sky." Now they are portraying Jill Stein as a communist. She basically is an FDR democrat. The right has gone so far right and the dems are there chasing them.

My money is on Julian Castro.

She is plucking the Hispanic and the black vote. Tim Kaine is too white, Warren competes with her on the womanhood. Out of the 3, Castro would be the choice, although someone else could come along.

Could be. I am not one. I wish we had a better candidate; then again, she is a much better candidate that the guy the Cons are backing (or, should I say, putting up with)

You know what? I want Harry Reid to lose. I hope in 2020, someone primaries Reid like Tim Canova is primarying DWS; Reid is such a useless, incompetent tool --no wonder he and DWS are on the same page. Did you hear that during a Democratic meeting, Alan Grayson shouted at Harry Reid, "Say my name!" Priceless. I keep on contributing to Grayson.

Tulsi Gabbard is going to likely become a large, serious progressive candidate with the backing of the Left. We'll see how her career progresses over the next 12 years, but so far it looks promising. She definitely made a name for herself during this primary, and put herself on the progressive agenda. In 12 years, a Grayson-Gabbard duo seems like a nice possibility.

On the whole though, I wish Green's would start occupying Democrats. Long term, I think that reforming Democrats with small dollar donations while working towards campaign finance reform --all while the Republicans continue imploding-- is the most likely and quickest way towards progressive policies being implemented.

If it's not Elizabeth Warren, I will be voting Green, because it'll prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that that Hillary is a total corporate shill.

It's worth taking stock that Wall Street, Hillary's biggest cheerleaders and fundraisers, have told her exactly who she is allowed to choose as her VP.

At the end of the day, I'll settle on having Warren as VP so she can run for the presidency in 4-8 years, and maybe push Hillary to the Left a little bit and have a (largely ignored) progressive voice in the Clinton administration. But if Hillary won't even allow that, she deserves the presidency just as much as Donald Trump does.

She does not need to be VP in order to run for President. Warren said she wants to stay the Senate to push her agenda. VP is a figurehead/cheerleader spot and not an advisory position at all (unless you are Dick Cheney that is). You need to curb the emotionalism and respect Warrens wishes. She is making sense. Don't you want her in the Senate to help Bernie and the progressive movement? Where do you think bills get passed?

There's a shadow of doubt?
