The Spanish were inadvertently (and in some cases on purpose but mostly by accident) devastating to the people of South America by bringing in diseases that almost wiped them out.

England colonized the New World, American didn't. America was created after the colonization happened.

The Belgians slaughtered twenty million in the Congo. No Native American or African tribe even remotely came close to inflicting that much suffering and chaos.
