This. Our representatives are beholden to corporate interests. In that regard the only difference between Democrats and Republicans is that the latter infuses their rhetoric with Christian nationalism to goose and distract their base with culture war nonsense while they join Democrats in privatizing/selling off public interests, deregulating and dismantling safeguards against corporate abuse, facilitating manufacturing moving overseas where slave wages and no unions pump up corporate profit, and providing massive tax cuts to the wealthy.Government is corrupt. Our so-called "representatives" do not represent us. They work for the billionaires. Of course they don't want the people deciding how government can serve the people. They want billionaires to decide.
That is the fault of the voters who elect these bozosGovernment is corrupt. Our so-called "representatives" do not represent us. They work for the billionaires. Of course they don't want the people deciding how government can serve the people. They want billionaires to decide.
Because their agenda is to keep workers' wages low,
and to deny workers' sick time and other benefits,
Republicans hate people who work for a living, which is why they hate democracy. They consistently lose at the ballot box when voters get an unobstructed vote on the actual issues, even in so-called "conservative" states like Missouri. Because their agenda is to keep workers' wages low, and to deny workers' sick time and other benefits, their agenda is unpopular when voters see what it actually is, so Republicans lose and the people win statewide when there is a referendum. Therefore, Republicans are trying to make statewide referenda subject to their gerrymandering power.

Totally agree. Might only add that part of moving manufacturing overseas is to take advantage of less environmental regulation, too.This. Our representatives are beholden to corporate interests. Good, that means lower prices for everyone. Labor is cost, reducing that cost is always good, that's why our homes are filled with labor-saving devices and machines.
Who cares. If the worker doesn't like the lack of benefits they can quit.
Libertarians believe the stupidest shit. It’s why their libertarian utopia has never existed in the entirety of human history.Good, that means lower prices for everyone. Labor is cost, reducing that cost is always good, that's why our homes are filled with labor-saving devices and machines.

???? you are assuming that corporations want to keep YOUR costs down...?Good, that means lower prices for everyone. Labor is cost, reducing that cost is always good, that's why our homes are filled with labor-saving devices and machines.
That's what they said in the Gilded Age--------a horrible time for the common man who worked....Who cares. If the worker doesn't like the lack of benefits they can quit.
/threadUnions.
But the monied interests in the US have been beating them back since workers fought to form them.
And currently, those efforts are winning.
When you start off with a comment that stupid, there is no reason to read a word beyond it.,Republicans hate people who work for a living, which is why they hate democracy.
This NPR article basically says that workers are dumb, so they voted Trump in 2024. Now they are paying for it. History shows that trump , and the GOP in general is rarely good for the working man, but here they say that Trump "tapped in" to their thinking. What are they? Stupid? What do the voters think?
Here's an NPR article post 2024 election cycle that can help explain it.

Why working-class voters have been shifting toward the Republican Party

History shows that statement is accurate.....When you start off with a comment that stupid, there is no reason to read a word beyond it.,

The rapid expansion of industrialization led to real wage growth of 40% from 1860 to 1890 and spread across the increasing labor force. The average annual wage per industrial worker, including men, women, and children, rose from $380 in 1880 ($12,381 in 2024 dollars[1]) to $584 in 1890 ($19,738 in 2024 dollars[1]), a gain of 59%.[2]
No it doesnt.History shows that statement is accurate.....
Yeah, keep calling the voters stupid. Thats a great way to win them back to your side lolThis NPR article basically says that workers are dumb, so they voted Trump in 2024. Adequate argument, but I will disagree.........................no one would want to go back to the G-Age,The lower their prices, the more stuff they sell. That's one reason why Amazon and Walmart are so successful.
That's right.
That's wrong.
Not trying to win anything...............just stating reality. I am a Republican ( not a Trumper), and yes, the voters had to be dumb to vote trump.............I mean, what possible rationality could there be?Yeah, keep calling the voters stupid. Thats a great way to win them back to your side lol
I mean, what possible rationality could there be?
I do not see how that is a rational statement....................By nearly any historic measurements, Trump was the worst choice...The alternative was worse.
