Down East Maine-ers certainly could vie for the title here, especially after hearing a tape of Bert & I.

New York and New Jersey brogues are interesting as well.

Boston people have been speaking the correct King's English since they arrived here on the Mayflower. So I'm going to have to vote for redneck Southerners as having the funniest lingo.
 
Southerners do sound funnier. But I can't say they are all rednecks down there so I can't really vote on the poll. I actually like eastern accents.
 
I find southern accents sexy....them Georgia peaches...Alabama flowers....Louisiana sweethearts.....I hate East coast accents yuck. Sounds like they're smacking their teeth. Everybody knows you have to go to Cali for the sexiest accent though. ****...gotta hide screen now wife still aint left for work.

I don't know why but to me that drawl is just annoying. Which sucks cause in my work I speak to lots of people from down there and I'm like just frickin talk right! :lol:

Maybe it's cause you're exposed to it more. I almost never hear it.
 
That Savanah prim and proper accent is a great sound rolling off of the lips of a nice Southern Belle!
 
I've never heard a Northeastern accent in person, but from TV they sound more rough, and some don't say R's. But you said funny, is that funny haha or funny strange? Because our lingo is very funny thanks to Jeff Foxworthy, but the one I perfer more is also Southern.
 
I'm a sucker for british accents myself. Southern drawl is good too. Philly and New York accents....:doh As for California well San Diego is where I learned to speak properly and pronounce words like water and mirror the correct way. Though I do hate that they call sneakers "tennis shoes." :roll: And say "dresser" all the time vs. bureau.
 
Definitely southern accents. Georgia or the Carolina's from my experience.

I don't notice accents from Southern California since I have lived here my whole life. Northerners (California) have different slang but sound the same.

Yeah minus the slang I think California sounds most like TV talk. No real detectable accent.
 
I like the boston accent and soutern accents too. I only dont like it when Americans talk? like everythings a question?For no reason?

I would say that the upper Midwest accent also slunds a lot like TV news. Except for North Dakota and northern Minnesota and South Dakota. Ever seen the movie Fargo? Minnesooooota South Dakooooota Yeah, sure, yooou betcha.

Back on topic though, I think the Southern accent is funnier. Bostonian is kind of cool, reminds me of Good Will Hunting, great movie.
