The World Health Organization on Sunday reported the highest one-day increase in coronavirus infections since the pandemic began: more than 308,000 new cases. India, the United States and Brazil logged the largest number of new infections on Sunday.

The WHO also warned that Europe will see a surge in coronavirus-linked deaths in the fall as new infections have been soaring over the past weeks to levels not seen since the spring.

The only good thing I see here is the much lower death rate that the 1918-1920 Spanish Flu, which came in waves. It belonged o a different family tan the coronaviruses. Fifty million died in the U.S. & something around 675 million worldwide.

Mask wearing became nearly universal in the U.S. during that pandemic

The Americans of that era were obviously smarter than the Republicans of today.

675,000 died in America, and 50 million died world-wide.
