If you could identify the most fair-minded, neutral, even-handed, non-biased political commentator or pundit out there today, who would that be?

Betcha Rush Limbaugh wins this impromptu poll hands down! :D

Wouldn't it be easier just to find a unicorn?

Hands down? Isn't that the position Dittoheads always assume when they are down on all fours?

Probably half his listeners enjoy the hands-down position very much, but I wouldn't call those libs dittoheads. They just tune in because they love to hate him so much.

Alex Jones.

LOL.

Off the top of my head i would say piers morgan. Not because he does not piss people off, but because he seems to piss everyone off fairly with his rhetoric.

Judge Napolitano is the fairest pundit by a very wide margin. He calls every issue down the middle, according to framer intent. A true American patriot. If only he had the stones to keep his show "Freedom Watch" (or equivalent at another network, if necessary). Freedom Watch was the best show on TV when it aired. It had good ratings, better ratings than FBN traded it for. Nevertheless, Judge Napolitano remains the best pundit out there and some network should pick him out of his current FBN banishment.

Being fair is different from being biased. By being a pundit they are supposed to be biased. Pundits offer opinions.

What you're talking about is someone who merely recites the news, like Tom Brokaw, Brian Williams, and other newscasters.

NO pundit is unbiased. They come to the table with a set of views that they are hired to express. Having said that, a pundit who does criticize both the left and right is Chris Matthews. He liked certain things about Bush a lot. He has criticized Obama a number of times. But he is a Democrat and comes to the table with a more liberal point of view. But he's not a far left liberal; progressives don't like him.

Bill O'Reilly, also a pundit, biased to the right, will also criticize the right as well as the left (though he criticizes the right far less than Matthews criticizes the left). He says he's an independent, which is just that he has no political affiliation. But he's a conservative in his views.

Candy Crowley on CNN is very fair. Lefties think she's a conservative. Conservatives think she's a leftie. That means she's being fair, IMO, and moderate.

Wolf Blitzer is just an idiot. Most Fox pundits are extremists and even spread misinformation. (Anyone remember the death panels discussions about Obamacare? They didn't exist in the provisions, as you can all see now. Informed people knew this.) Also not fair and balanced: Sharpton, Maddow, Schultz, O'Donnell.

Not being fair and balanced doesn't make the pundits useless. It's just that if a viewer wants ALL the information on a subject, it's best to go elsewhere. The biased pundits, though, will point out things that viewers otherwise will never know.

David Gerber on CNN is a conservative, but he can be fair and balanced. To the extent I've seen him.

Trey Parker & Matt Stone

Head of Joaquin.

Fair point.

I would say that it is possible to be biased and fair, though. Some people can do it, some cannot. If, by "biased", you mean have a formed opinion.

That's a load of BS and you know it!. Crowley jumped all over Romney for telling the truth about Obama. That was the most blatant case of moderator bias in the history of televised presidential debates.
