We have more than three years till the next presidential election. Way too early to be crowning a successor. The full article can be accessed at the Wall Street Journal WSJ Link or a subscription free archived article here https://archive.ph/Wv40Q
WASHINGTON—At least twice in recent months, President Trump has declined to formally crown Vice President JD Vance as the successor to the MAGA movement.
Instead, Trump is leaving his options open.
On Tuesday, he told reporters Vance is probably the favorite to succeed him, echoing what he has privately told associates. But Trump also talked up another administration official who has emerged as one of his most trusted advisers: Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
Other Republicans widely seen as potential contenders include: Govs. Glenn Youngkin of Virginia, Brian Kemp of Georgia, Sarah Huckabee Sanders of Arkansas and Ron DeSantis of Florida, as well as Sens. Tim Scott of South Carolina and Ted Cruz of Texas.
Does this look like a winning field of candidates to you? My top two picks from the bunch would be Sarah Huckabee Sanders and Ted Cruz, either one of which would almost surely result in a Democratic President.
Nonsense. Trump could smell burnt toast tomorrow. We have more than three years till the next presidential election. Way too early to be crowning a successor.
Ted Cruz was actually my first choice in 2016. He could be a viable candidate in 2028; however, I would give the edge and my support to JD Vance. Perhaps a Vance/Rubio ticket. I would actually love to see Ted Cruz on the US Supreme Court. The full article can be accessed at the Wall Street Journal WSJ Link or a subscription free archived article here https://archive.ph/Wv40Q

None of those people have Trump’s terrible combination of hubris, narcissism and charisma. The full article can be accessed at the Wall Street Journal WSJ Link or a subscription free archived article here https://archive.ph/Wv40Q

And you think a non-GOP-elite will be the nominee? We have more than three years till the next presidential election. Way too early to be crowning a successor.
Anyway, none of those people mentioned will be the one. They are all GOP Elites.
Wishful thinking on the part of the Trump haters.
This isn't about who "will be the nominee". This is about who Trump picks as his successor. And no, Trump will NOT pick a GOP Elite as his successor. And you think a non-GOP-elite will be the nominee?
Do you EVER take a moment to read what was posted before you jump in with both feet and end up being embarrassed?Wishful thinking on the part of the Trump haters.

Don't count on it. Trump's health is a ticking time bomb. One more Big Mac could be all she wrote. You just never know. Why do think anyone's even talking about it? Seen Trump's ankles lately? We have more than three years till the next presidential election. Way too early to be crowning a successor.

Nah, there isn't an ounce of "Trump hater" in me and I like several of the names on that list, as I discussed in comment 22.We have more than three years till the next presidential election. Way too early to be crowning a successor.

Cruz was my husband's first choice in 2016 too. Rubio was mine that year. I just didn't think Cruz was electable as president. He's really conservative and smart but I just don't think he has the right charisma/personality. I agree about SCOTUS for Cruz.Ted Cruz was actually my first choice in 2016. He could be a viable candidate in 2028; however, I would give the edge and my support to JD Vance. Perhaps a Vance/Rubio ticket. I would actually love to see Ted Cruz on the US Supreme Court.
