White House Signals Acceptance of Russia Sanctions Bill

Re: Congress to impose sanctions on Trump's Boss

0% RT talking pts.
50% slick talking pts.
100% talking points to be taken seriously.

100% RT talking points, and the USA will spank Putin and Russia if necessary.

Re: Congress to impose sanctions on Trump's Boss

"If" Trump makes it 4 years, which I think is doubtful at this time, Republicans will primary him for the nomination.
As far as the Ukraine--you have brought up another issue.

Recently Paul Manafort was forced by the DOJ to register as a Foreign agent. He was working for the Russians earning 17 million from them to advise the Russians on Ukraine/US policies.

This was installed into Republican platform during the RNC Convention in July.

John McCain wanted to know what this was doing in the platform.

These sanctions were written in response to Russian interference into the election.

It's clear that the congress has taken over the steering of this ship. Trump cannot veto this vote.

As far as 2020 you might want to keep an eye on Democrat John Hickenlooper, governor of Colorado.

He can veto it, then congress needs to decide if they want a veto override vote.Really hard to say how the game will play out.

No they took away the power of veto on this issue. The house passed it by 413-3 the Senate by 97-2. His veto power just flew out the window, they don't even need to put this one on his desk for a signature.

There is no respect in either house for this President--(from either side of the isle.) They are steering the ship now.

What is going to be very interesting is to watch how Vladimir Putin reacts to this, as he was assured by Michael Flynn who is currently under criminal investigation, that more sanctions would NOT happen, when Obama kicked all Russian diplomats out of this country, and threatened more sanctions.

He still hasn't signed it. Been on his desk for days now. If he tries to ignore it it will pass as law without his signature after a handful more days. So I wonder if he'll wait to the very last second to sign it or just ignore it and let it pass without his signature?

If he trys to pocket veto it, it will show that he is nothing but a Russian puppet

And his sycophantic base would still deny it to the ends of the earth.

Re: Congress to impose sanctions on Trump's Boss

But congress will probably make a point of protesting

Will they? Or will the GOP give a stern statement to tell us all of how they are "deeply disturbed" and do not a damn thing?

The republicans voted for these sanctions as a veto proof majority. Trump's pocket veto would be a affront to his party.

I think the GOP would still help pass the bill over top of the veto and then say how they are "deeply disturbed" and the next day will be business as usual with them as was the previous day.
