The White House is pushing for a congressional compromise on U.S. Postal Service funding and stimulus checks for individuals as House Democrats decry President Trump's threat to withhold funding for USPS and link it to the administration's opposition to universal mail-in voting.

The federal and state governments should have known that a much greater need for mail-in voting may be necessary for the election all the way back in March and if that planning actually started neither side would have any issues. It is not like the election is an unforseen event. Elections Canada already started planning for a Fall election with a far greater need for mail-in voting that might not even happen a while ago.
