House Republicans reached a tentative deal with the White House on Saturday night to address the nation’s borrowing limit and avoid a catastrophic default on U.S. sovereign debt, Speaker Kevin McCarthy confirmed.
McCarthy and President Joe Biden spoke about three hours before the speaker delivered formal remarks about the agreement.
Sounds like 'ol Joe was bent over like a little bitch.
Unless the deal is "sit down and shut up republicans, we're doing this with or without you" then Joe has just lost my respect.

Trumpists love terrorists.
There's no winners and losers here. We're all winners.
An issue like this is at best a tie. If reporting is correct no drastic cuts and more importantly the ceiling is off the table until 2025. The rest looks like small potatoes to let each side say they won.
Always been my perspective......That's the spirit.
It has historic reductions in spending, consequential reforms that will lift people out of poverty into the workforce, rein in government overreach. There are no new taxes, no new government programs. There's a lot more within the bill," McCarthy said.
Joe is good, but he can't cut a deal alone.Unless the deal is "sit down and shut up republicans, we're doing this with or without you" then Joe has just lost my respect.

Well, I'm glad they worked things out, but I'm disappointed our Senate has turned into a useless branch of the legislature.Unless the deal is "sit down and shut up republicans, we're doing this with or without you" then Joe has just lost my respect.

So hoping the HOUSE MAGATS totally reject McCarthy's deal with the Devil!
I'll hold off thumbs up or down until President Biden signs on the bottom line.I'll hold comment until we see the fine print, and of course if Congress can push whatever that deal is through.
ExactlyI'll hold off thumbs up or down until President Biden signs on the bottom line.
I think there is a good chance a large number may but not the majority. As ironic as it is, this may be a truly bipartisan bill with the sensible representatives on each side coming together against the extremes. So hoping the HOUSE MAGATS totally reject McCarthy's deal with the Devil!
Historic since when?According to McCarthy.
We'll see exactly what he means by "historic spending cuts".
Debt ceiling agreement in principle reached between Democrats, Republicans
President Biden and House Speaker Kevin McCarthy spoke by phone for nearly 90 minutes Saturday night to discuss the debt ceiling, a source told Fox News.www.foxnews.com
You meant the House weenies.Well, I'm glad they worked things out, but I'm disappointed our Senate has turned into a useless branch of the legislature.
Historic since when?
You can technically call anything historic, it's just a matter of context.
For example the dump I took today was historic.
As in, it was the biggest one I took today.
No. I meant exactly what I said. You meant the House weenies.
