How are Democrats going to address white grievance in 2020? Clearly calling people "racist" and "deplorable" has worked well. Trump and the GOP have a great playbook now on flipping the script of identity politics.
There is a perception that white America has been losing its country and that whites are now facing discrimination. Claiming that anyone who feels that way is "racist" is likely to be counterproductive.
How will Democrats address the decline of Blue Collar jobs?
How will they promote the demographic shifts in the country as a good thing?
Will Democrats take the bait on Confederate monuments and flags and continue to equate them with slavery and racism?
Race is going to be bigger than ever in 2020. Trump really, really needs his base to show up enmasse to have a shot since Independents appear to have abandoned him. He is going to be drumming the white grievance issue for months and laying out traps for Social Justice Warriors to fly into in a fit of rage and confirm his allegations that white America is under attack. What strategy will Democrats employ not to have a repeat of 2016?
