Which in your opinion would be more effective concerning Venezuela? Sending troops or doing a Berlin Wall food drop sort of thing? For those who don't know, it was an endless procession of planes dropping food and supplies into west germany when the berlin wall was started between east and west germany. Russia tried to strangle west berliners by not letting supplies through by land.

C,mon, man! Berlin Airlift pre-dated the Berlin Wall by about 12 years!

I stand corrected about the time, not the intent, I'm sure you got the point of the question.

Not going to belabor the issue; if you want to use history to make a point, it’s on you to get it right......

No Brainer....Drop Food.

Damn near everyone South of the border would be shocked and impressed.

Let the Venezuelans figure it out.

Well ex-patriot Venezuelan troopers want no part of a foreign invasion even if it supports them. They want to stage a Bay of Pigs style assault with our support. I have specifically used the Bay of Pigs description to make the point. I am not enthused about this "solution".

We either were or were not already engaged in regime change there. Immediately recognizing Gauido suggests we were, but not effectively (what else is new). Either that or we were not in which case we had no clue about the situation on the ground and should have kept our big trap shut AGAIN!

My preference would have been for our covert services to have pulled the Military away from Maduro. We either were not there to do that or were there and mucked it up! So if it were me, I would take a deep breath, stop announcing crap just to announce it when you don't have anything meaningful supporting said announcement and I would get about the business of pulling the Military away from Maduro. Then take a next step after that has been done. Bribe some generals....WHATEVER!

Food and aid airlifts, let the "zuelans" figger out the polly-ticks all by themselves.
I predict Maduro and his socialist dream is toast.

With Maduro in charge of the Military he will just scoop up the food drops and that will be that. Need to wrest the Military away form Maduro and then much is possible.

I don't understand why the U.S. is involved at all. And that includes sanctions. Why can't we mind our own business? If the people want to overthrow the Venezuelan government they can do that. We shouldn't interfere.
