Yeah, no.Solved by other means.
The article is deceptive, claiming that only 21 miles of wall were built in Texas. The accurate number is over 400 miles.
Didn't Bannon run away with the money he raised for it? Maybe that's why nothing is happening. Also it woukd be harder to invade Mexico if there was a wall blocking the way.
Trump's priorities have changed from his first term. Building a wall pales in comparison to building an autocracy. So what's the holdup?
Building it was a National Emergency during his first term so why not now?
And...
With only 8% built, Texas quietly defunds state border wall program
Texas officials suggested the federal government could pick up construction. However, during President Trump’s first term, his administration built about one-third of what the state was able to put up in the same amount of time.www.texastribune.org
Torture?Solved by other means.
That strictly applies to new construction.Yeah, no. Over decades,140 miles of wall were built, most before Trump.
The bulk of the work was upgrading existing fencing.Texas launched it's wall effort in 2021. To date Texas has completed 61.4 miles. Trump completed 21 miles in his first term.
Not in this lifetime.Torture?
The people Trump/Noem have snatched off our streets have already been tortured. Not in this lifetime.
Yes, building something tends to involve new construction. That strictly applies to new construction.
It’s only an emergency when Dems control Congress or the White House, much like the debt. I look forward to scary stories about caravans next October. So what's the holdup?

You just moved the goalpost.Yes, building something tends to involve new construction.
If you need to pretend that fixing a fence is building a wall, then go for it.You just moved the goalpost.
Your numbers only apply if there was no existing wall, fence, barrier, or other demarcation, ie completely new.
No pretense needed. If you need to pretend that fixing a fence is building a wall, then go for it.
Waiting for the Democrats to take the House. Again. Then it'll become a 'national emergency'. Again. So what's the holdup?

400? Really? Only 800 to go then.Solved by other means.
The article is deceptive, claiming that only 21 miles of wall were built in Texas. The accurate number is over 400 miles.
Only about 700 miles is on land, with the rest being the Rio Grande River.400? Really? Only 800 to go then.
Feel free to look it up.Just wondering, how much steel does it take to build 800 miles of 30' wall? What's the price of steel these days? Not just for the wall either- it takes a lot of rebar to make 800 miles of concrete footing for a 30' steel wall.
Gesundheit.Coughtariffsahem.
Like most real estate, it depends on the location. And what's the cost of private land in Texas?
A little over 250, some of which is not planned.Next up- nearly 1,000 miles of border left.
Yeah, where Juan crosses the river with his clothes bundled on his head. Where the term 'wetback' came from.Only about 700 miles is on land, with the rest being the Rio Grande River.
So the wall will end in significantly difficult terrain? I guess the part you mentioned is the easy part? Some area, eg Sonoran Desert and the Baboquivari Mountains in Arizona, do not have was since the terrain is a significant obstacle.
Tariffs on imported steel and you want a huge steel construction project.Feel free to look it up.
Gesundheit.
Not only the land the wall is built on. You need access for excavators to dig the trench for the footing, trucks to deliver the rebar and concrete and panels and cranes to erect them. Not to mention buses to transport your crews and camps to house and feed them. Lots of people are gonna make lots of money. Hell, just emptying the Pota-Potties will be a rich contract.Like most real estate, it depends on the location.
Mexico border is nearly 2,000 miles long.A little over 250, some of which is not planned.
Where it used to happen.Yeah, where Juan crosses the river with his clothes bundled on his head. Where the term 'wetback' came from.
The difficulty now is that existing right-of-ways are mostly complete. So the wall will end in significantly difficult terrain? I guess the part you mentioned is the easy part?
I saw the attempt to change the subject.Tariffs on imported steel and you want a huge steel construction project. Where do you think that steel will come from?
Hence Texas downsizing their plans. Not only the land the wall is built on. You need access for excavators to dig the trench for the footing, trucks to deliver the rebar and concrete and panels and cranes to erect them. Not to mention buses to transport your crews and camps to house and feed them. Lots of people are gonna make lots of money. Hell, just emptying the Pota-Potties will be a rich contract.
Asked and answered.Mexico border is nearly 2,000 miles long.
