Where was the Democrat outcry on Farenheit 9/11 (1 Viewer)

Perhaps they were Americans and thus couldnt openly advocate CENSORSHIP for fear of hypocrisy.

By the way, Welcome to DP!... oh and that sig is cute, good luck with that. No wait, good luck with Billo and Ivan.

Does anyone have any quotes/links/etc. from Clinton & Company requesting F9/11 be pulled from theaters?

I don't get it. Why would Clinton and company have done that?

Farenheit 9-11 was a funny flick. Who can forget the image of Bush sitting there for several minutes holding "My Pet Goat," looking like a deer caught in the headlights, after being informed of the attack?

Actually, haven't discussed anything with either of them yet, and based on what I've seen of their type of discussion, I don't really care to. But that's not to single them out, as the "other side" is JUST as bad with the playground debate tactics.

Irmeion's - who I would classify as pretty left from what I've seen - has given me faith to this point, as we've been on opposite sides of the spectrum on the couple of subjects we've discussed, but the whole "insult ad hom crap" is not there. I like that. Polite disagreement. It's a much better form of argumentation than "you're a blah blah blah so you're wrong" so prevalant amongst the sheep.

Either way, I don't care, I'm here to discuss things rationally and civilly, and if your (you - in general) response starts with "well your a right wing nutjob" or "you're a pinko commie"... then that's not a discussion, but 1st Grade Lunch Hour, and I won't partake in it.

Of course, that' means when someone's getting their butt handed to them, they know all they have to do is throw some insults, and then I won't participate, and then of course they'll run around screaming "I won, because you aren't answering my questions" like a 'tard, as if refusal to participate in play-ground antics gives any amount of "righteousness" to their argument. That "victory claim" cracks me up everytime.

For the same reasons they say to pull this ABC miniseries.

I don't recall any "pull F911" comments from the Democrats, do you, or anyone else, know of any?

Actually, wasn't there a bit of an uproar when they tried to put F9-11 on TV?

If memory serves me right, I think that outcry didn't really come from the Democrats, outside of the politicalspeak required... i.e. "I firmly agree (fingers crossed) that shouldn't be shown on TV rioght before an election (but I really really hope it's on TV right before the election)" kinda stuff that you get from both sides that anyone with 2 brain cells can see right through. I want to say most of the outcry came from the "right".

I'm more interested in knowing what Democrats stood up and convincingly announced their opposition to F911, like those from the Clinton Administration are doing to this miniseries.

Me, I haven't seen the miniseries yet. I'd like to, if the stupid cable company can meet their 2nd appt to install cable in my new pad in time. Then, once I see the miniseries - if I decide to watch it - I can see what's being disputed by Clinton & Company, investigate the facts myself, and see if they're lying or if they are justified in their criticism.

Well, my guess is you'll find about as many Democrats who stood up and convincingly announced their opposition to F-911 as you will find Repbulicans who stand up and convincingly announce their opposition to the Clinton bin Laden drama.

Neither party monopolizes hypocrisy.

Probably for the same reason that Bush and Republicans aren't joining in the frey to have the 9/11 miniseries pulled. Partisanship.

Can you show me where any elected Republican congresscritter demanded that F-9/11 be pulled from the theaters or video stores? It's a simple request, one that I'm sure that you can answer with ease.

People look after their own interests.

Does anyone have any quotes/links/etc. showing how Clinton's actions were misportrayed in the F911 movie?

There's a difference if films though. ABC says of the new miniseries that "some of the scenes in question are fictional for the sake of dramatization".

I don't think F911, though I haven't seen it myself, had much 'embelishment... The funny thing about that film is that Moore showed clips of Bush, not an actor, saying what he said... and conservatives are all ticked at Moore.

This is from the only little snippit of F911 that I saw;

"Well here we are, the haves and the have mores. You are the elite, you are my base" - George W. Bush

F911 had plenty of embellishment! It is propaganda. But you're right, the films are different.

"The Road to" has fictionalized scenes. F911 had Moore's voice narration.
