Well, in the mid 60's the Syrians were backing the Palestinians in attacks on Israel and then Nasser decided to head into the Sinai and kick the UN out just to be an asshole so Israel kicked their asses and kept the territory.

Sounds fair to me.

If you're going to keep trying to blow me up I'm going to keep resisting. The Palestinians have a choice to live in peace or or at war. They have chosen the latter.

As I've said before. Israel doesn't support Israel like America supports Israel.

What Americans believe about the history of this conflict and what Israelis believe are simply not the same.

I seriously doubt you would have accepted the "peace" that was offered. Or would have tolerated what the Palestinians have been put through so the Jews could have a permanent physical majority within the borders THEY have been establishing since day one.

Its been shady since the beginning. They've been trying to dump the Palestinians on other Arab states with nothing but the clothes on their backs the whole time. Its always been their desired solution to the "Arab problem".

It has always seemed to me that the only solution acceptable to the US religious right is that Israel get everything it wants no matter how many Palestinian corpses it may require. The unbelievably lopsided media coverage I've witnessed in the US made it hardly surprising that 9/11 and the reasons for it came as such a shock. Sadly it still didn't come as a wake up call

Well what can you do.

There are influences within USA that direct policies towards pro-Israeli solutions no matter how biased those solutions may be. Media is definitely included in the influence together with other aids.

Nothing new here, as it is pointed out this has been going on for a while. It is legal and it is money at work. Nothing personal.

I only wish that if atrocities are carried out from the Israeli sides that court should seek justice within Israel. Better that than say a UN international court for instance.

The way your OP is presented (with the picture of the map being the most prominent feature), i doubt that many people will even read the link that you have also provided which talks about the casualties in Gaza.

For the record, i hated the way the article was presented and the poor attempt at humour. I don't find anything even remotely funny about any of it.

It's a shame...and, I don't think any of it is fair. But, I also do not think the American Indians losing all of the Americas was fair either. You only get to keep the land you can hold. THat is the reality.

I will not attempt the defense of the world as it is today.

The U.S gives humanitarian aid to Palestinians.

IF a group wanted to annihilate you and your home it is reasonable that you might get support.

As far as territorial disputes blame European hierarchy of WWI; They divided that area of the world to suit their imperialistic goals.

The U.S was forced to take Israel under its wing circa 1956 when Britain disclaimed it's original oversight.

It ain't pretty but c'est lavie.
