I am curious, the United State's involvement in Iraq this time around has generated the Phrase "Historic Day" like no other war the U.S. has ever been involved in. So, after the "Historic" selection of Jawad Al-Maliki as Prime Minister elect, you can imagine my suprise to return to the site and not see the usual Bush Diehard Proclamation of history being made and enormous progress. I find it hard to believe that the Diehard among us have not jumped on this "Good News" coming out of Iraq----theoretically, and by Diehard definition, this should be big news. Perhaps the Diehard is learning to actually wait and see before claiming progress has been made------normally, the progress argument would have been used by now, once again committing the Diehards to a false proclamation of success. It just goes to show you, even if it is located in the subconscious, the Diehard has learned to question the situation in Iraq too. However, is it too late?
The Pandora's Box which the U.S. opened in Iraq may never be able to be closed, only time will tell if that is so, but----it may be too late. Remember when Saddam's statue fell? How about the First Temp Government? Or the Interim Constitution? How can we forget "Mission Accomplished" and "End to major Combat operations." And those visions of Purple Fingers being waved after the "Historic" elections? Remember Sovereignty Day? I do, and according to the Diehard among us, all the violence that preceded these "Historic" days which displayed our "Progress", was generated out of desperation. The last desperate acts of scoundrels-----and thugs, assassins, deadenders, and holdouts.
Imagine my suprise in returning to the site after a few days and not seeing the usual Cheerleading from the Diehards and Bush "Holdouts". Has the time finally arrived to where even the Diehard is doubting the Good News and they are waiting to see the results now----instead of just claiming success blindly? If so, what will that mean for GW and his usual Motis Operandi of trying to fool at least 52% of the people all the time?
By all accounts now, GW has managed to maintain at least 33% of the American population's support, but support comes in many forms. However, when looking at the way the Diehard support has been utilized in the past, verses the way their support is being projected now, does the lack of cheerleading on this subject spell doom for the Bush Administration?
Have the Diehard Population started to question the progress and success even if only at the subconscious level? I don't know, but if they have, George's political walls have not only started to crumble, the debris has started to completely settle in around his ankles, leaving him to inhale the asbestos soaked dust which will eventual kill him at that same political level. Have even the Diehards grown weary of being wrong all the time? George's political life may be ending on a sour note, but will it be too late for the rest of us?
