There are so many things that he could have done in order to reduce the death count, but instead he opted to punt to the states, so that 50 governors instantly had to compete against each other--and the federal government. Since then, he has been too busy downplaying the threat of the pandemic. Too many of his nitwit followers contend that there is nothing that ever could have been done.

But for starters, how about a national plan on testing? With a 24-hour turnaround--so that, you know, testing results actually matter?
