Christians had a majority in Lebanon for a long long time and it was only very recently when the Muslim imperialists gained a majority and the Christians still consist of about a 40% of the popoulation in fact my uniformed friend the Christians were in Lebanon far longer than the Muslims so who colonized who.

IMO there is no such thing as 'Christian Imperialism' to be honest and if there is, it probably happened so long ago that most of us couldn't properly judge it.

European Imperialism was about spreading Christianity the way the Civil war was about 'State's rights'. Sure at the start, I'm pretty sure they felt very strong about the evil Federal government just like I'm sure Europeans felt very strongly about spreading Christianity through the heathen lands of South America, Africa and Asia but as time progressed all that it ended up being was an excuse to use oppression and to pillage. It was based on the material.

This is diametrically opposed to Islamic Imperialism in the sense that Islamic Imperialism focuses almost exclusively on the individual and breaking him down through the destruction of culture, values and other social aspects. The Spaniards did an incredible amount of damage to the Mayan, Aztec and Inca cultures but to some extent they can still be found. How many tribes in Africa, the Middle East and Asia weren't completely wiped out culturally and otherwise due to Islamic expansion? People didn't embrace Islam everywhere. Like most major religions it was brought to people with a blade as an option.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that European Imperialism was based on European greed while Islamic Imperialism is based on expanding Islam. For that alone it is worse to have a few angry Europeans every few centuries then a Muslim Empire.
 

hh , sorry athiest , koran and bible were never written by man , wikipedia isnt true about categorizing group and religions , you'll find hundreds of differnet writings about groups and religions , eventhough the same article which is translated to different languages are'nt the same ( Article written in english is different than the one written in arabic for the same article ) ...
so I dont believe ( like many members in this forum ) but the general info articles like talking about socialism , capitalism ... imperialism .

another thing , you are too small to be even a minority in the middle of religious people ,, so your opinions doesnt matter at all for us , like saying there is no God , the koran or the bible is written by man . so do you think that all those people are stupid religious and you are the smart ones ?

Ahmed, its my opinion that those who live their lives based on books written millennia ago are in the wrong..
Much better, and probably confusing as well, is to read/study the great philosophers and other religions....
I'd rather be confused than be convinced by any one religion...

The crusades were retaliatory in nature in fact they were a response to Islamic Imperialist expansionism but yes they were done in the name of securing Christendom.

you cant judge on a religion without making its Rituals or even mingle with religious people , believe me having a religion is much better than being confused , at least you'll fill that big hole about you confusion .

Muslims had stopped their expansionism in Jerusalem . things had settled down so far until the crusades came and made that Massacre , then Salah Al-din came back and took the land , in this case Muslims were a response to the crusades imperialism not the opposite , because in the begining we'd entered Jerusalem peacefully (with no war) .

excuse me Athiest , you're so Ignorant to know that christian, Islam, Jew ... are somethings called "religions" ,, all of them calls for morality , peace and Good ethics . So the majority am calling here is the "religious people" not only christians .

No, they say it is wrong. Do you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior? They do. If you disagree with them you must be wrong since they are the majority.

Christians are of the majority OPINION that anyone who does not accept Jesus as their savior is wrong and will go to hell. Do you?

huh? Muslims believes in all prophets , and I proudly say that Jesus is one of them who must be followed in all his actings and sayings , and that never Underestimates our prophets position who told us to believe in all the prophets before him .

If I were a christian I'd have believed that Jesus is my lord and savior , but as a Muslim I believe that Mohammed (PBUH) is my savior , its not even a fundamental difference between christians and muslims , as long as both of us have almost the same beliefs , small differences will never matter .

In simple meaning : Iam an Egyptian , I Show loyalty to my country , that never means that I hate America or Americans because they shows loyality to thier country , Its my right to show loyality to my country and so does Americans , and there will be no hatred from me or from them in that .

Do you believe Jesus is God and was crucified for your sins? Do you accept him as your Lord and Savior? If not then you are wrong according to the majority.

This is not a small belief or small difference. Christians believe Jesus is God. He is the only way into Paradise. How is that even remotely close to Islam.


What does that have to do at all with our discussion? You said that the majority is always right and apparently don't realize how ridiculous that statement is.

BS they expanded all the way to Southern Italy, Spain, Istanbul, the Balkans, and all the way to the Phillipines in the east.

I do believe that he is the lord and the saviour for cristians , my saviour is my prophet .
I dont Object with any beliefs if they dont Offend with us .

Am showing here that eveyone sticks to a religion , must never offend other people's religion , they must only show respect , not because I show loyality to my religion that means that I dont believe in yours .

Muslims didnt last long in those countries , The first war against them was a big faliure cuz of the cold weather which they weren't used to it as the climate of the middle east is always hot .
The only country we barely settled in was Istanbul .
