That Al Qaeda is nothing more than a CIA run group designed to mobilize the American population to go to war?

I think this belongs in the conspiracy theories. Sorry Al-Qaeda is VERY real. Or do you believe that Osama is a figment of your imagination?

As for your choices, they are on either end of the spectrum. I don't know if EVERYTHING that is currently accepted is true, but they sure in the hell aren't a meaningless group either, so witholding answering the poll with those choices.

I agree with what TheNextEra said, but I decided to pick the answer that was closest to the truth. Did you think this little conspiracy theory up on your own?

Al-Qaeda is a state of mind. Every captured militant will tell you that.

All this 'Osama is the head' 'Zarqawi was a major leader' is fine to believe if you want to, but every al-Qaeda member has dug their own grave, and sees their, sometimes imminet, death as a glorious manifestation of their love of God. And every captured militant will testify that the 'leaders' had little to do with their conversion.

You cannot kill it with bombs and bullets. It must be deeper, much deeper, than that.

I admit that its far-fetched. That's why I bring it up here. Heh.

My point is essentially this:
A lot of what the conspiracy theorists (alex jones and company) think is that the bin laden tape, the confession of 9-11, was faked. He points to the CIA backing of bin laden in afghanistan and yugoslavia, and the fact that our government has known links to funding al qaeda.

BE THAT AS IT MAY.

It seems odd that we have not seemed to get the top guys yet. We have thousands of troops in afghanistan, not to mention intel services, and yet we still are no closer to finding him then we were a year ago. He is still "hiding in the mountains between afgan/pakistan." Even the Taliban have re-taken some of the towns closer to that area.

All the al-qaeda terrorists say that they have 'pledged' to Osama. Does Osama exist? Some estimates say that he died in 2003, due to a bad kidney. Or that his kidney screws with him, and he can't be in the wilderness for too long. How many of those terrorists actually have met Osama? Or are they just like the miami-would be bombers; except they have access to guns because they have a sugar daddy who can pay for em.

Even the chief people in this administration acknowledge that Osama may not have good control over Al-Qaeda. They cite that there are many independent cells, many places. Their goals do not always coincide with that of Osama's stated goals.

We are constantly told that after an Osama message comes out, that it is 'under review for authenticity.' Nothing more than that. Why is it that this is the case?

I'm not saying that Al-Qaeda is the third front of the US in its quest for global hegemony. I am only thinking about this one line; "You don't know what's impossible until you know whats possible."

I have no doubt a terrorist organization exists known as al-qaeda. I only wonder; is it an organization headed by muslim extremists, or is it possibly headed by western extremists?

If someone told me that I would have to reply "You need to place the crack pipe down and slowly back away."

Even if it were, one would be hard pressed to prove it.

I think a better question is "What are the odds the meds haven't kicked in yet".

Rule One for conspiracies. One person can keep a secret. With more than one, the odds for exposure grow exponentially. Now, sit down and consider just how many people would have to be involved in this conspiracy.
