I'm pondering over this, nonetheless. Maybe you thought of this little gem, when you were hungover...or maybe you haven't had enough hangovers in your existence.

It would be a very cold and dark place....but we would not see it, for we would cease to exist.

Is this not already happening? Energy is leaving our universe, in various forms of electromagnetic radiation. The energy of the Big Bang is ringing still in all the movement of the universe, but eventually it will become numb. There are various theories on what will happen in between that. Still, we have plenty of time. No such thing will happen in our lifetime. We still have a large sun to keep us warm and full of energy.
