What would equality look like?

Moderate Right:

Were we not all equal before we were born from oblivion? Will we not be equal after death? Human life is the aberration of inequality in an otherwise equal eternity. A flash in the plan, ignited by fear and greed. Working towards equality and fairness, even if they are never fully realised, is better than surrendering to bestial fear and insatiable greed, thus settling for systemic inequity and institutionalised unfairness. The end of wanting is the beginning of happiness. One does not pursue happiness, one realises it. To pursue happiness by stepping on others is predation - a bestial impulse. To endeavour to raise all to a better place along with yourself, will realise happiness in not just one, but many. That is the meaning of commonwealth, an old and now forgotten concept which the American capitalist colonies were founded on until individuals' greed and avarice replaced the communitiies' commonwealth with the wealth of nations.

Cheers and be well.

I have nothing against helping those at the bottom end of the scale but not at the expense of screwing the successful. That is my main gripe with the left. They seem to believe that you can't help the poorer unless you take from the rich in order to do it.
