The time to leave is now. Everyone knows that Al-Qaeda has nothing to do with the Iraqi insurgent violence. It's Bush's fault. Come 2008 when Bush is out and Obama's in, the jihadis will go back to being the peace-loving angels that they've been for the past millennium.

Re: Stay the cource...

Did you think this thing was gonna happen over night?

Nah, I figured it might take 6 months or so, maybe a year.

But what happened to them? They were supposed to be the "stand up" so we could sit down.

I think the most important consequences are not available as options. The one I'd vote for is "the world destroys itself." If we leave Iraq, there will indeed be civil war. There will also be a wider war in the Middle East between the Persians and the Arabs (this has little to do with Sunni/ Shiite distinctions). The current rulers of Saudi Arabia are nominally our allies and friendly towards the west, but they do not enjoy popular support in their country. The most likely outcome is that the Sunnis and Shia start an all-out civil war in Iraq, drawing in Iran and Syria on one side, and Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Yemen, and even possibly Egypt or Libya on the other. Oil supplies from the Middle East will become unstable enough to crash the economies of both China and the U.S. Both countries will send armies to the Middle East and may engage in theater-wide nuclear exchanges. You can pretty easily guess what begins to happen in Europe, the FSU, India, etc. once that gets going.

Nicely stated... How about if Obama selects Nancy Pelosi for VP then we could see real world peace.

If we cut and run prematurely like the left wants to do then there will be genicide........

Who's going to commit this "genicide"?

I don't agree with leaving Iraq, but if we did, there would be anarchy and civil war leading up to control once one side or the other took power.

Once power is taken do you think those with the power will look to annihilate the other Muslims in the country?

Then you figured wrong. I say generations, Gunny says decades, from the beginning.
But what happened to them? They were supposed to be the "stand up" so we could sit down.

From the beginning CICoW.boy said "stay the course" and "this will take a very long time", and he still does. Nothing has changef, nothing new under the sun, not even American's dismal patience span.

Look at it like this I-man. Remember civil rights? What, two generations ago, and still the hate from both sides lingers. But it's far better now than in the '60's, isn't it? The old men it happened to have to die, their kid's infulence on the Grandchildren must be slowly overcome by the reality of the way things are over the taught hate of Grandpa.

It's the same thing in the ME. We have freed the women from the old men who were used to getting a BJ with a nod and a grunt. Imagine you the stupid old Arabs are pleased with what we are taking from them? But do you think as new children are born the now free women will tell the young men when the old men are not looking, "we got it much better now"? You are not a stupid guy I-man

but you don't think outside the box much.

You need to pay closer attention. We are not asking them to "Stand up" so we can "Sit down". We are asking them to "Step up" and we stay where we are.

Hey teacher! Why do you keep drawing Mr. Kotter?

I agree. It is not rocket science. How long does it take? It seems like our gov. is blowing sunshine up our asses about this being possible.

It would be nice if an admin could implement a max width/height of images. Teacher's big pictures make the width of the site blowout so you have to horizontal scroll on every page there is an image posted. Plus they are just annoying and pointless to the debates.

Perhaps. Yet in WWII we were turning out troops in a month and officers in 3 months (the "90 day wonders") who went out and took on the most experienced and professional army in the world.

If you have men who believe in their cause, are loyal and dedicated, it doesn't take years to build them into an effective, disciplined fighting force.

On the other hand, men lacking that will never be effective, no matter how much you train thm

Which probably has something to do with why they ain't standing up.

Haha LOL! Not the lurking shark! Ahhh!

You file this **** away and save it up for when you feel good and ready to give me a big ol' whoopin' ;)

I don't flinch.

What, in your estimation, is the percentage of people that think that there is a test?

Without a stable government and security under control the Shia will wipe out the Sunni...............

I know...

There is. I found a way around it.

and pointless

Unlike your head.

to the debates.

What's that got to do with this site?

We did have an auto resize but it seems to have gone away with 2.0.

I'll inquire. HWSOH is busy now. I'll check with someone who has some REAL pull around here...

While I'm at that, how about a poll?

teacher:

Keep him and his giant images?

or

Ban him and everyone pay attention to Gibberish?

What do you unwashed masses say?

CROWD TEACHER CHANT.JPG

I tried, you lose.

Here's the skinny. Whatever you want, concerning me, you're best bet is to NOT draw attention to it.

Okay bro...

Thanks for proving my point.

What's your point?

This place needs to be all serious, all the time?

Humor distracts you?

Can't find the ignore option? (I think this will solve your beef, check it out. Beware, if I get word of that, I'll be all over you, you won't see it, and you'll be wondering why everyone is snickering under thier breath when you walk by).

Your Dad...Mr. Stick?

Your Mom...Mrs. Inthemud?

YOU want to be The Warden?

You didn't get "Colonge" for the final Jeopardy answer? I just did. But then I ALWAYS win that.

I don't get it, for ME, I've been WAY more serious today, and on THIS thread. For crying out loud, I've been talking to, not smacking Iriemon.

Isn't that right I-man?

Can't find the ignore option? - teacher

Haha  yeah. No offense Gibberish, but when somebody bugs you, just ignore them, it works fine and dandy...

I can scan through the posts quickly enough so Teacher himself doesn't bother me. It is only when the images blow out the width of the website and I have to horizontal scroll to read the posts from other people's posts.

I haven't ignored anyone and don't really want to start.

There really is no need to Ignore, I agree. I have punished a few of my pets by placing them on Ignore though. Without my attention, they withered. It was sad. I only do that in extreme cases though.
