On Tuesday, the seven-year quest by Republicans to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act, popularly known as Obamacare, appeared to come to an end, and President Trump responded to the setback by vowing to "let Obamacare fail."
"It’ll be a lot easier," Trump said at the White House.
“We’re not going to own it. I’m not going to own it. I can tell you the Republicans are not going to own it. We’ll let Obamacare fail, and then the Democrats are going to come to us.”

The most important thing is to blame the Democrats, of course, and see to it that the ACA does run into trouble. How:

He's way ahead of you.

Analysis: Market Uncertainty Driving ACA Rate Increases
Two market influences, in particular, are complicating 2018 rate setting: the uncertainty surrounding continued funding of cost sharing reduction (CSR) payments and the question of how the relaxation of the individual mandate will impact enrollment and risk pools.

New analysis by Oliver Wyman projects that up to two-thirds of 2018 rate increases will be due to the uncertainty surrounding these two market influences. For example, if an insurer submits a rate increase of 30 percent, two-thirds of that increase will be attributable to the CSR and individual mandate uncertainty.

Health insurers' proposed 2018 rate hikes are early 'warning signs'
Health insurers asked for big rate increases for a myriad of reasons, but in most cases, the question mark driving a big chunk of the rate hikes is whether key Obamacare-era provisions will remain in play in 2018. Those provisions include the individual mandate penalty that drives people to enroll in coverage and the cost-sharing reduction subsidies that help low-income members afford the coverage.

Uncertain Future of Individual Mandate Could Contribute to Higher Premiums
Rate filings show some insurers believe the Trump administration could stop enforcing the mandate — or it’s already not being enforced, Sabrina Corlette, a research professor at Georgetown University’s Health Policy Institute, said at an event on Wednesday.

Team Trump Used Obamacare Money to Run PR Effort Against It
The Trump administration has spent taxpayer money meant to encourage enrollment in the Affordable Care Act on a public relations campaign aimed at methodically strangling it.

He's working as hard as he can to tank the marketplaces.

One could argue that this is trump abandoning his duties and responsibilities of being president.

Actually, it's not an argument, it's a fact.

Just as many here saw me complaining about Obama refusing to fulfill his Constitutional Duty to "Faithfully Execute" immigration laws and other laws of the land, so Trump is doing right now with the ACA - Article II, Section 3, Clause 5 - ..., he shall take care that the laws be faithfully executed."

Congress has to act, because they alone have the power to act.
