complete sentences, here we go...
that's not a complete sentence, bipartisan
what has baucus' running away from committee have to do with obama's approval rating?
LOLOL!
let's see
on the one hand we have a 51% approval for a sitting president 8 months in
and on the other, we have widespread rebellion within his own party
dogs, gubs, freshmen, progressives, cbo, a dozen plus powerful senators
the lost respect of a once fawning media
aren't you, bipartisan, the machiavellian who asked how can americans object to health care when there is NO BILL?
LOLOLOL!
on the one hand we have 51%
on the other, there's mandates on individuals to buy for themselves up to 13% of their incomes, fines and punishments if they don't, half a tril cuts to m and m, murderous mandates placed upon the states, a killer cost curve, a lack of enforcement against illegals, generalized abortion funding, end of life savings, the taxing of benefits, the taxing of small biz, the taxing of upper earners and the end of medicare advantage
and you ask what all this has to do with obama's polls?
LOLOLOL!
you're really not able to discourse at this level, bipartisan
you don't even know who kent conrad is
take care, friend
enjoy your 51%
You still haven't answered how people can be opposed to a Health Care bill when there isn't a final one yet, but at least you attempted to answer it. You also acknowledge that Obama has the 51% so shouldn't he do what's best for the majority of America?
Has there not been any discussion on the proposed health bill?? Must we wait for the final bill to discuss it or disagree with it??
Or would you rather us wait for the final bill, then watch as the Dems force a vote before the final written changes have even been distributed to Representatives, much less the press and the public like they did with cap and trade??
That is a really lame argument.
My point is of course with so many Health Care Bills out there people will disagree with one of them. I would rather people vote on one final bill than 6 bills floating around.
You still haven't answered how people can be opposed to a Health Care bill when there isn't a final one yet
Moving forcefully on his top domestic priority, Obama told Sen. Max Baucus he wants legislation ready by week's end in the Finance Committee that Baucus chairs, according to numerous Democratic officials.
Don't bet against us. We are going to make this thing happen," the president told reporters earlier Monday,
What the president did was re-center the debate because he said if you like thing the way they are, go ahead don't participate. But all of you who you thinks there's a need for real reform, you have to get in the game,"
Isn't a final one yet? What was Obama trying to slam through before August recess then?
CNSNews.com - Obama Wants Health Care Bill Passed Before August Recess
Legislation by week's end?
And then Pro-bipartisan...can I ask about....
How can you be supporting a health care bill if there isn't a final one yet, you seem to be taking a leap of faith here and be honest, would have supported this going through prior to August.
And then...the new line from the VP is Thanksgiving:
In other words, if you're happy, shut up. If you want to suck up 20% of the nation's economy in a single bill, follow me....Sheeple.
Biden Predicts Reform By Thanksgiving after Obama Challenge - Political Hotsheet - CBS News
I cannot see the weight of explanation of why Republicans are against as there is no final bill yet. I want to know why you supporters of this albatross are in such a hurry. I think Democrats and this President need to admit(as Obama did in his JSoC speech), that this think is short on detail, it's a clear and obvious power grab.
And every Repub worth their salt needs to oppose this thing in a most fang dripping demeanor. Torch this thing and then get busy throwing this three ring circus out of office(s).
Argh, Rasmussen AGAIN?! Give me a break. They are an outlier. Look for multiple polls and averages, not outliers to prove your lame point that you hate Obama. It seems the OP will just post whatever poll he agrees with and, of course, that poll is Rasmussen.
Hot off the presses today from Rasmussen:
Just 41% of voters nationwide now favor the health care reform proposed by President Obama and congressional Democrats. That’s down two points from a week ago and the lowest level of support yet measured.
The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 56% are opposed to the plan.
I'm not going to repeat myself so just go back and read my previous posts if you want a rebuttal.
Why are people mad if Obama said he was going to spend billions of dollars?
Can we discuss the bill the day before Obama signs it or do we have to wait until after???
He isn't spending billions, he is spending TRILLIONS. :2wave:
Of course, if you have 51% you get re-elected, are you un-aware of that?
Which bill! That's my point! People are being asked how they think of Health Care reform by Democrats and they are bound to not like one of the bills proposed. Even if Republicans proposed a bunch of Health Care bills I guarentee you the majority of people won't like all of them.
Of course you are kidding right? Apparently you are unaware of how Presidents get elected. :doh
We should be discussing everything and anything that could possibly be included in this bill.
How else could we tell our representatives how we feel? Why do you think we must wait for a final bill before discussing it?? I asked you once and I'll try once more.... do you prefer we wait until a bill is passed with no discussion like cap and trade was before voicing our opinions of it???
Your reasoning is truly strange.
Sorry, if he said he would spend trillions why are people mad at him? People are getting what they voted for (obviously unless you didn't vote for him).
I never said we can't discuss it. Please quote me on where I said that, since you won't be able to I will keep going. I'm just saying why I think the poll turned out the way it did. Stop trying to make it more than it is, your so desperate.
I don't remember him saying he would spend trillions of dollars the Government doesn't have; I do remember the promises he and Democrats made to the American people in order to get the majority they now have; fiscally responsible, transparent and that they would not raise taxes on ANYONE who makes less than $250K and would pay as they go. Obama also promised that his programs would create 5,000,000 new high paying good jobs; so far we have lost about 2,650,000 with no end in sight.
I would say that if anything, after 9 months of Obamanomics and almost three years of Democrat majorities in the House and Senate, their promises have been nothing more than one vast lie.
We are currently looking at 10% unemployment with no end in sight, continuous negative GDP numbers with no end in sight and a $1.6 trillion deficit and all time high DEBT. Even wallowing in the deepest denial one cannot spin any of this as good.
And meanwhile, Obama has sworn to go to war with the American people and cram Universal Healthcare down our throats spending more trillions he doesn't have; without even the slightest effort of an HONEST dialogue about who will pay for all this crap.
Yep; this administration has so far NOT been a disappointment to those of us (like me) who warned that this "post turtle" lacked the honesty, the integrity, the spine, the experience and the economic knowledge to do a job that was way over his head to do. :2wave:
Please enlighten me then. If the president gets 51% of the popular vote then it would take several electoral votes to go opposite of how their population voted to not have him elected and only people who to end their political career will go against their population. Please point on an election where the president got 51% of the popular vote but lost the electoral college vote.
