What the World Would Be Like If Everyone In The World Behaved Like the Catholic Saints.
It would be a fabulous world.
Everyone would be looking out for everyone. There would be very little government. Every social service need would be taken care of by volunteers. Health care would be one giant co-op. And those who couldn’t pull their share would be taken care of voluntarily by others. There would be little need for law enforcement. I say ‘little' because humans are still fallible and make mistakes. People would still make errors such as inadvertent traffic violations. There would still be mentally ill people who would do bad things. Some police would be needed to keep everyone safe. The little government needed would be for taking care of infrastructure. There would be no need for the military, scant need for regulatory bodies. Government would be extremely skeletal. This proves conservatism is God’s way. There would be no leftists, because greed, the desire to control, and selfishness would be at a minimum. There would only be an honest media, reporting facts straight down the middle. There would still be elections and differences in opinions on how to best handle issues. But all debate would be friendly and the overall goals the same. There would not be selfish ambition to secure power, rather; the desire to succeed politically would be solely to help the people. There would still be competition, but all accomplishments and accolades would be to glorify God.
There would be no divorce, no abortion, no birth control. It would be a well-managed population because people would be looking out for others first. There would be many many Catholic churches, throngs attending daily Mass, many priests and sisters, only Catholic schools. No government schools. No poverty, except that that is self-imposed. No abortions, few unwed mothers. There would be nobody living in luxury. Very little obesity. There would be far less junk food and sugary snacks. Fewer health problems because most people would be treating their bodies as temples. There would be fewer temptations, no porn industry, no gambling industry. There would still be accidents, natural disasters, disease, epidemics, depression, and congential maladies. But some suffering would be welcomed and used as a positive, and many volunteers would be on hand, helping to minimize that suffering.
There would be plenty of parties and celebrations, but without drunkenness. There would be plenty of family fun, board games, dinners, puzzles, happiness, laughter. Loneliness would at be a minimum because there would always be people reaching out.
Oh, sure there would be sin, because that is man’s nature. But everybody would be working hard to curb sin in themselves. In short, all the evil we have now would be reduced to very little. All the good we have now would be greatly expanded.
We should each work to make ourselves like one of the canonized saints. Our goal should be perfect. Our goal should be to do as much to help others as we possibly can. We will fall short, but that should be our goal.
