MAGA are election deniers and believe political violence is OK to achieve their goals. Moderate and normal republicans are very similar. Somewhat reasonable and willing to discuss issues instead of being tribal.
For the time being, until all the MAGA is rooted out, the safe bet is to vote democrat across and down the ballot. It will take a few serious losses for the MAGA brand to realize they are not wanted in traditional America.
And it wouldn't hurt to prosecute Trump and his coup plotting allies.

We've watched for 8 yrs of Obama Admin. when Republican fought against and attacked everything, and then supported Republican Politicians Pledge to Oppose ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING that Obama Administration put on the table.
There are Republican who have voted for some of the most Rabid People, and it is Republican in general who backed and supported the Tea Party Madness, who became the Barbarian MAGA.
I would with people who are in general good people, who vote Republican, they are good people until it comes to Politics. I have never encountered so many people who don't know legislation, don't read the history, don't research history, and often don't understand the perspective or the impact of legislation. I know some who get along with non white people, but some have an air about them, that they still think their skin makes them better than others, and some still think they are a "role models for society".
I've met some who claim to be Christian and claim to be so devoted to Christianity, but know every little about the wisdoms put forth in the Bible.
We all know, that for 100's of years, white people who backed and supported slavery and segregation, were not honest Christians, if they had been they never would have submitted themselves to back and support slavery and segregation. We saw white people during the Civil Right Era of the 1960's and long before then, who had a "race bigoted mentality" who outwardly discriminated against non whites and felt proud about doing so.
There are still to this day, white people who try to force feed their opinions upon people of different races developing relationships and families.
Republican is just a word... that is like an umbrella... they fight against the progress of society and people, who are not white and only ease up ONLY if they think something won't disturb their want and sense of white priviledge..
There is NOTHING in our Constitutional Republic Form of Representative Governance that supports or promotes Political Party's.

Being Elected as a Representative or Senator, NEVER should have been about "Money". If WE had an intelligent society, they would know who and what a candidate stands for... and there would be no need for any Candidate to go chasing money across the nation.
Each Candidate would have Federal, State and Local Campaign Financing, and everyone gets the same amount of funds. We'd also have pre-requisites for anyone to qualify to get those campaign funds.. Not only would "age" remain, but one would have to have a track record of performing "civic service work" in an organizations that services the Public.
Racism, Gender Bias and Greed is the only reason we don't have those a system that is without Political Party Divisiveness.
