What people don't get about Trump support...

What is really baffling about trumps core base is

Evangelicals? They vote for "grab them by the *****" trump? Trump doesn't have a religious bone in his body. He is a total scumbag!

Uneducated whites? Nothing Republicans have ever done improves their lives. The democratic platform offers them so much more. The only reason they have to vote against their best interests is the Republicans have successfully labeled the democratic party the minority party. It seems it is all about race.

Evangelicalism has always been a total con-job built on racism, antisemitism, hypocrisy, and the subjugation of women.

The person I was responding to said the current regime's actions were evil, yet Trump IS the current regime. You're attempting to take away any responsibility for his actions by pretending Trump's federal government is a mutinous giant machine he has no control over.

In reality, 95% of the issues Trump is facing is directly his fault. He hand selected wildly unqualified and incompetent people to run his administration and he's wildly incompetent and unknowledgeable himself. He intentionally chose people with no background in what they're supposed to lead and an active desire to destroy that agency. Further, the few semi-qualified people he did have like Mattias and Kelley he fired unceremoniously.

So yes, Trump and his cronies ARE the current regime, and no there's no big deep state conspiracy to make him look bad they really are this incompetent and really did bring it on themselves.

QAnon is the mainstream of the Republican party. These people believe that Trump is the last thing standing between Democratic deep state pedophiles who drink the blood of children to maintain their youth. You know, the real government that Trump is protecting them from.

Anyone who votes for any Republican is complicit in this madness.

If you're waiting for the latest controversy or scandal to sink Trump for his supporters, keep waiting. It will never happen. I just watched an analysis on CNN between Chris Cuomo and Dick Gregory over whether Biden can peel off Trump-sympathetic voters in a battle for the soul of the nation. It was really sad how out of touch these people are; that Trump supporters are afraid of the left and like Trump 'in spite of his flaws because the alternative is worse'. As if Biden could just position himself square in the center and it would pull Trump supporters over to his side. Republicans do not want a compromise candidate. Why would they?

The vast majority of Trump's supporters do not like Trump in spite of his behavior, his laughably low intellect, his dictator-like tendencies, his seemingly inability to master object permanence, and utter inability to navigate the very basics of government and cooperative problem solving -- they like him because of it. They are using him to destroy the government and the institutions of modern civilization from within. That's why his support will never drop below a certain very enthusiastic group -- his supporters feel that government is the one thing blocking their their agenda. Whether it's right-wing libertarians, overt racists, Christian fundamentalists, dictators and and aspiring dictator followers, oligarchs, etc... they all share a similar goal, dismantling of effective government.

To a large extent its not emotional, it's ideological. They don't feel uncomfortable with Trump on any level, except perhaps for the PR aspects which impacts their ability to spread their message.

This is the inevitable result of the Republican's shift away being an opposing political party with a different economic philosophy, and towards being a vehicle for the demonization and dismantling of government. A goal which allowed the various factions of conservatism to unite under a single banner decades ago. Trump is the fulfillment of this direction; he IS the chosen one. He is not an aberration.

Anyone who thinks that Trump is doing a good job of managing the government, or that his supporters want effective management government, is not a serious person.

Well, we aren't going to vote for the ****ing communists.

Then dont, vote Biden to remove the turd stain that is Trump

it's emotional, too. either way, it doesn't matter. my guess is that pretty much everyone knows who they are voting for or against.

Biden is one of the communists. Why would I vote for someone who promised to kill jobs?

@Dans La Lune:

Hi!

I just wanted to thank you for your OP! It got my wetware up and running this morning and resulted in an OP on this page titled, Is the 2020 election really about President Donald Trump?.

It's always been important to me that credit should be given when due. That certainly is the case here.

Thank you, Dans La Lune.*

Regards, stay safe 'n well.

* The lyrics of the song by King Harvest comes to mind. ;-)

I prefer effective government in general, but since most of the current regime's operations are objectively harmful, I'm happy for Trump to obstruct them (to the limited extent he can).

Why would he need to do that when he controlled the admin and congress for most of his term?

Why doesn’t he just govern in the manner that he promised to, and you elected him for? Or was it your goal to disrupt the United States government and harm its citizens?

Keep pretending it isn't. :lamo

It isn't about jobs in any way, shape or form. It's called a pretense. Bill Clinton and FDR created the most jobs by number and percentage. Trump doesn't even make the Top 10.

Biden is not a communist but trump is a turd stain and if you are worried about jobs you have no choice but to vote Biden as Trump is an economic disaster.

Trump hasn't inacted a single policy that killed jobs.

The Is What It Is policy has been a powerful job killer.

Trump hasn't inacted a single policy that killed jobs.

Actually the ONLY thing he has done to maintain Obamas economy was to spend vast sums of money to avoid the damaging effects of his policies.

Trump voters just really like the racism. It’s literally the only thing he’s been able to give them. Once he lost Obama’s economy, he was completely lost.

Name calling is all you people have...lol

The farm industry would have been utterly decimated without Trump's socialism, thanks to his policies. He's basically paying them off at this point.

Trump is the antithesis of innovation and forward progress. He'd sacrifice a million future green power jobs to sustain a hundred coal power jobs.

The government can't create jobs. Only the private sector can do that. That's something the commies will never understand.

This election is not about Trump, and it's not about Biden...It's a battle between good and evil... between the people of God, and the people of the Devil.
