I think the US and NATO should give Ukraine exactly what they have been asking for - CLOSE THE SKIES.

Didn't see that as an option, but that's what I believe we should do, for both moral and pragmatic reasons.

Churchill gave away Eastern Europe at the Potsdam Conference.

Not sure why you’re picking on Churchill, the guy who coined the term “Iron Curtain.” He was replaced as prime minister by Clement Attlee before the end of the conference, before the adoption and signing of the Protocol of the Proceedings, before the creation of the Council of Foreign Ministers, and before the adoption of a final peace treaty that would terminate the administration of occupied territories. Britain was also just one party to the agreement.

And who or what would stop Russia from solidifying its fait accompli in Eastern Europe by extricating the Red Army? Do you think Britain, the U.S., and France were prepared for another physical war against the USSR over the fate of Eastern Europe, having just fought a world war? The idea behind NATO was to stop Soviet expansion and secure the peace in Western Europe, and from that standpoint it’s been highly successful. Europe is stable and free, while Russia and the nations within its sphere of influence are a complete disaster, loaded as they are with tyranny, corruption, and economic mismanagement.

Its about time!

"Biden intends to attempt to ramp up pressure on U.S. oil companies to up production by urging Congress to make companies pay fees on wells from federal land leases that they aren't using, accusing the companies of "hoarding without producing.""

So Biden wants to be a bully and unilaterally alter the terms of contracts. Typical.

Looks like he wants oil prices to double from what they are now.

I wonder how many of these leases are “shit” deep-water offshore prospects. If they’re already marginal leases, making them less profitable or even unprofitable won’t get them drilled. They’ll just lapse and become another write-off.
