Outside of immigration, where he's barely above water, Trump's approval is in the shitter on everything else. Foreign policy, economy, inflation, etc. What "issues" is he popular on that his mouthpieces keep saying he is?

That's fine and dandy, but his base alone isn't enough to win the GOP elections, especially when he's not on the ballot. Not everyone who voted for him is a die hard MAGA. Some voted for him because they wanted that 2019 Obama economy back, and if he doesn't deliver...the GOP is screwed.
 
You should get into the habit of watching CNN. Seems they present a lot of polling regarding Trump and the public.

 
Maybe if you had asked that question of Biden in 2023, Trump might not be in office right now. But opinion polls at this point are meaningless. Trump is president and he cant run again. Plus some bad poll numbers for Trump doesnt mean people are wishing to do the last electio over again.
 


It's not so much that Trump is popular or even has to be.

Why is the left so petrified over losing the young male voters, or why are Gen Z voters are increasingly turning away from democrats? Gen Z isn't falling for the race baiting and blame games. Not to mention the ABCDEFG pronoun crowds.
 
He is popular on hot soft shelled chicken tacos.
 
None of this gets solved overnight, but already a double-digit improvement over his predecessor.
 
Trump is popular because he talks and acts like a fifth grade bully- so his supporters can finally understand a politician for a change- no bullshit mumbo jumbo about law, culture, science, economics, philosophy, etc… they can’t understand.

They are not relevant because the only poll that matters just happened a few months ago, Trump isnt running again, and his job approval rating is still higher than at any point in his first term. Plus, I dont recall you calling for Biden to change course when his ratings were even lower.
 

They will be relevant in the new few elections as long as Trump is president. Putting aside the questionable polls such as Rasmussen, Insider Advantage, and Trafalgar which boost his overall approval rating (without them he'd be in first term territory already), Trump is polling MUCH worse on the economy than he was during his first term. So even if he is more personally popular now, he's polling just as bad, and in some cases worse, on policy and "issues".

And btw, I don't want Trump to change course. He won, and he believes he won in a landslide, I want him to govern. The BBB bill sucks, but I want it to pass. The GOP has control of Washington, everything is on them.
 
Not a Trump fan, but he (rightfully) holds the popular position that men shouldn’t be allowed to commit violence against women in athletics.
If only Democrats, the party that claims to oppose violence against women, shared the same view.
