This has produced an unstable balance between the wonderful and terrible things that we are capable of as a species. Interestingly, when reading the Adam and Eve story through an allegorical lens, it describes this quite well, IMO.

If one checks the record, it'll (somewhat) verify that I came up with cooked food (versus meat; lots of living things eat meat) as the reason why humans evolved.
