What is free speech?

Are purposeful lies free speech? How about if they cause harm?
Few in this forum actually understand what "free speech" actually is, but a lot of them masquerade around talking about something they call "FREE SPEACH" which roughly translates to
"I can say anything I want without consequences of any kind, anywhere, for any purpose, from anyone." and they think that's a right protected by the Constitution.

IT ISN'T.

One rarely says what everyone already thinks and knows.
So when you say 'causes harm' you really mean 'something you don't agree with"

And the Founders were wary of doing brain scans to see if something factually false was intentionally said because it was false.

Free speech is not nude dancing or burning a flag or anything like that. It is protection of the right to criticize the governemnt. All other attendant forms of speech are based on that.
