What is the position of the United States of America on the protests in Canada, and the ensuing crackdown by Ottawa through invocation of Emergency martial law powers?

Canada is arguably the USA's closest neighbor and ally, as well as its largest trading partner.
One would think that the US govt would have something to say about the events going on in Canada, which affect the basic civil rights there.

But so far there is a conspicuous silence from the Whitehouse. as well as a general blackout in US media.
See No Evil, Hear No Evil, Speak No Evil. 🙈🙉🙊

Through its non-reaction, is the Whitehouse giving its tacit approval for the draconian suspension of civil liberties in Canada under Emergency rule?

Supine.

If you are talking about the Biden Administration, their silence on the issue is the answer.

If you are talking about most of the Mainstream Media, their silence on the issue (when not condemning the protesters) is the answer

If you are talking about all those Leftist/Progressive "activists," their cheering on the authoritarian actions of Mr. Trudeau is the answer.

However, if you are talking about those of us who support freedom, liberty, and the right to peacefully protest?

OUR answer is we position on the side of all those peaceful Canadian protestors.

See answer one and three above.

My position is that the US can loan them tow trucks if they don't have enough.

That elderly lady who got trampled by the police was not in a truck, she was in a walker.

Who was she obstructing or harming before she got trampled?
I didn't advocate trampling anyone.

But do you?
Are we asking each other stupid questions for our own entertainment now? Ok. No. I don't advocate trampling anyone. My turn.

If you were stranded in a hopelessly isolated town for twenty years, which would you prefer to bring with you : 20 years worth of peanut butter, or 20 years worth of Kiss records?

I think it's cute that you think the United States of America has "a" position on anything.

Good answer.

Peanut butter.

Of course you do - you're a liberal.

You'll cheer the leaders who create and run the gulags, then turn around and say the gulags don't exist.

You're no different than the average German citizen of 1935.

Those citizens were conservatives — look it up. Some of us have actually read William L. Shirer — you can look him up, too.

If we look at the sequence of our posts - yours immediately followed in response to mine - then it certainly seems like you did.

But more importantly, why is the Biden Whitehouse so clearly and deliberately silent, when these events are happening right on the other side of the US border?

Not sure what they could say given Canadian truckers must show proof of vaccination to enter the US. Even if Trudeau was to eliminate the vaccine requirement here those Canadian truckers are stuck on this side of the border.

we realize that the dumbass antivaxxers and anti safety people will murder way more humans with kids than ever needed to die during this pandemic.

then the question is, what will become of those kids?

Authoritarianism is leftwing - all authoritarianism.

Doesn't matter what flavor. Fascist or communist doesn't matter.

Leftists, communists, Marxists, progressives... whatever label you want to stick on your forehead - bark endlessly to try and differentiate themselves from fascism and nazism as it gives you a convenient strawman to label and attack anyone you disagree with.

Truth be told, however, you're the exact same species as fascists and nazis.

Is it the truckers who are using government force against the population?? No, of course not - it is the truckers who are protesting for freedom.

It is those of you on the authoritarian left who, as always, are calling for government force to be used against the populace.

Seems to be.

Fascism is as Fascism does.

Biden seems to be saying to Prime Minister Black Face, "You're my kind of people. Keep it up!"
