there would be alot fewer dead people.

so true.

If No one believed in God, the world would finally progress - many people, do not even acknowledge god or religion faithfully in their lives anymore (at least in really industrialized nations, any pope or bishop would agree with me here too that christian spirit is dying) so thus if no one believed in god anymore - it would cause a shudder, a great shudder, like a animal finally shedding its old wrinkled skin to grow a new one.

This is a really STOOPID (dee dee dee) thread.....

Anyone who has ever believed in God or does believe in God has either died or will die.

Anyone who hasn't believed in God or doesn't believe in God has either died or will die.

SO WHAT'S YOUR [EXPLETIVE] POINT? [Expletive]-heads!

What if No One Believed in God?

Well alot of people would get to sleep in on Sundays...

a lot of people, young , old , middle aged, like to sleep long on the weekends =\

I love the 'shedding the skin' analogy.
We could start over and live much more peacfully, without religion.

Maybe after the next nuclear war, which will likely stem from relgious differences, will bring about a 'rebirth' of human society, and we'll all put that big myth called 'god' on the sidelines and live our lives without prejudice or hate.

Wouldn't that be great?

Mankind has always had an inherent instinct to believe in a supreme entity. About every two thousand years it seems the god of choice is reinvented but the desire to make believe has remained down through the ages.

many believe it - just they are very very loose with the rules attached to the major religions nowadays.

And you're not being prejudice against religion right now?

Who cares if I am?

Its bad outweighs the good it does, 100 to 1. It has caused more hatred, animosity, and death than it has caused joy and progress.

AND? Your point? Because I don't care.

Jesus... what crawled up your ***?

Stop acting childish.
He was making a point to your sarcastic "little baby" mantra.

yes, and on a side note, the very nature of religion is predijuce - against 'heretics', 'heathens', 'unbelievers', 'sinners' , 'antichrists'...just common terminiology in the language of nearly all major religions...

great point.

Religion, in its core, is basically clan vs. clan. The exact same thought process that has kept humans fighting since our existence, it is just on a grander scale.

Until religion is unified or demolished and humans end their territorial pi$$ing parties there will always be some kind of war/fighting/death.
