As much as the president would like to blame our economic ills on the other party, or George Bush or, well, just about anyone, the fact is he’s been at the helm of the ship of state for almost 6 years. So his recent pivot toward addressing economic issues is a bit of a laugh, in reality. For 6 years it simply hasn’t been that important to him. And there’s good reason. His record, as Emily Miller points out, is abysmal:

The economy has never grown much more than by minuscule amounts during the Obama administration. Gross domestic product has grown at an anemic pace since he’s been in the White House, barely sputtering at 1.8 percent in the first quarter of 2013. Unemployment under Mr. Obama has averaged a discouraging 8.8 percent and still tops out at 7.6 percent.

Gas prices are rising again, but Mr. Obama spent a long stretch of these speeches touting the doubling of “clean energy” production on his watch. He claimed to have “saved the auto industry,” but didn’t mention that Detroit has gone bankrupt.

Most absurdly, he cited as a point of pride that “our deficits are falling at the fastest rate in 60 years.” He left out two key points: The congressional Republicans demanded spending cuts for increasing the debt ceiling, and the rate of decrease is high because the deficits themselves have been the largest red ink in U.S. history. Spending was $1.4 trillion more than revenue in 2009 and $1 trillion more in 2012
.

The Congressional Budget Office projects a $642 billion deficit for this fiscal year, but that’s mostly because Mr. Obama hiked taxes on Jan. 1 to pay for his spending habits.

Despite years of promises to the contrary, to this point, President Obama and his administration have been economically underwhelming. In fact, they’ve been downright inept.

Obama claims it's because Congress won't give him what he wants and the all those phony scandals that the GOP has concocted like Fast and Furious, Benghazi, IRS and the NSA Scandals. Of course no one mentions the theft of information in the Attorneys offices representing Whistle blowers, or those lowly IRS employees that just happened to implicate the Chief Counsel to the IRS, Mr. William Wilkins Esq. an Obama appointee. Just today Jack Lew did his tap dance on the Wallace Show hemming and Hawing trying to side step answering the Questions on the IRS scandal.

That is not trickle down economics that's Trotsky lite.

Trickle Down Economics has never been advocated by a politician or economist. But for the purpose of your argument, let's say that someone has championed it. Then, yes. Obama has adopted 'Trickle-Down Economics.' One that eclipses this whole tax cut stuff.

you didnt answer my question. Tell me what economic policies did Obama initiate that are different from the past 25 years?
What he did do is not much of anything; tax rates still small, financial deregulation, glas stegal still remains repealled, corporate crime goes unchecked.

Obama has recently increased taxes. Pages in the federal register has increased 30,000 pages within the last 25 years, over 600 which actually included the financial industry. Glass Steagall is still in the US Code. It is not repealed. There was no deregulation.

As for corporate crime going unchecked, I do not know which crimes you are referring to, but it's most likely due to something called 'Government Granted Limited Liability.'

Certainly the tax increases and implementation of Obamacare injuring corporations and the middle class. Corporations are reducing the number of fulltime workers to part time. Beside the increase in taxes, no increases in salaries, and cost of living getting higher than most can afford. When did you last pay less than $3.00/gallon for gas to run your car or fuel oil to heat your home. Has anyone seen the cost of steak lately. When was the last time any employee on these boards received a 5% or better raise in salary?

I guess we can all thank Obama, his economics, ObamaCare, destruction of full time jobs, Porkulus and his shovel ready jobs that weren't shovel ready.

What Obama says and what he does is completely different. His actions have been along the lines of trickle down economics.

Yet again, you don't seem to understand English. Is it your second language? What Obama SAYS and DOES are two different things.

His ACTIONS not words, say that he follows trickle down economics.

That's why unemployment is high, and the economy is being destroyed.

The economy is being destroyed because the house won't act on anything. You know the GOP controlled house. They approve the money being spent. Obama did not come up with Obamacare, Congress did and passed it. The house is the one responsible for the pursestrings, yet time after time allow it because THEY want THEIR pet projects being spent on. The unemployment is following on that. Don't like Obamacare? Blame the house for NOT defunding it.

Again, Obama is following trickle down economics by HIS actions. Congress is screwing everything else up.

Obama was given nearly one trillion dollars called the "Stimulus" to jump start the economy. What America got was "Shovel Ready Jobs that weren't so shovel ready." To quote your savior. Then there were all those 'Green' jobs, oh and bailout of GM, while destroying stock holders and the City of Detroit in favor of the unions. I guess you forgot that both Houses were controlled by Democrats from 2007 to 2010. BTW has the Senate passed a budget yet?

Yet again CONGRESS approved that and continues to approve the spending going on now which is Obamacare. As for budgets, I agree, the Senate should pass one. However, that doesn't excuse the spending approval from the House does it?

And the house, you know the one we have today that is controlled by the GOP, continues to approve the spending. Your spin cannot change the fact that the House controls the pursestrings and allows Obamacare to exist in funding it.

As for your other dishonest partisan hackery comments, I didn't vote for Obama. Maybe you should stop with the generalizations and wake up to reality that the GOP is the one failing since they keep approving the spending and funding of Obamacare.

I guess you missed the point. When Obama took office, he had a Democratic Party majority in both Houses. In effect he was given "Carte Blanche" and he ineptly blew it (screwed the pooch) with "Phony" jobs and paying off supporters like the unions, and supporters like Solyndra, Fiskar and others that soon went belly up after getting huge sums of money from Obama. Whoops I almost forgot the biggest scam of all "ObamaCare"

And that is one fact that I took into consideration to not vote for him in 2012. However, that doesn't change the fact that the debt and Obamacare lie firmly with the House. Obamacare exsists now because the GOP controlled house let's it exist.

See you think I don't blame Obama for anything, I do. However, you are blind to the fact your GOP is failing you.
