What US army base is in Poland? Rzeszow military base

The U.S. troops arrived at Rzeszow military base in southeastern Poland, near its border with Ukraine, after U.S. President Joe Biden on Wednesday ordered the deployment of 1,700 soldiers there. About 4,000 U.S. troops have been stationed in Poland on a rotational basis since 2017.Feb 5, 2022

Does Poland have nuclear weapons?
Poland is not known or believed to possess weapons of mass destruction. During the Cold War, Soviet nuclear warheads were stockpiled in Poland and designated to deploy within the People's Army of Poland.

Why is Russia threatened by defensive weapons in Poland? Were they planning on invading Poland?

And that has exactly what to do with what NATO is doing?

You realize Russia owns East Prussia and there’s nuclear weapons stockpiles in Konigsberg, yes?

Russian troops launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine on Thursday

Russian troops launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine on Thursday as President Vladimir Putin warned the world that any attempt to interfere would lead to “consequences you have never seen”.

Why is Russia threatened by defensive weapons in Poland?
In the past 200 years, Russia has been invaded by western Europe at least THREE TIMES - and they don't forget. They have plenty of historical precedent to fall back on in feeling threatened by the west. Hitler sent 2 armored, and 10 infantry divisions through Poland, even though they had signed a non aggression pact. In fact, Napoleon Bonaparte invaded Russia through Poland. It's a great rationalization for Putin to force feed his Russian population - and when you control the media, you control the message. So we can't assume everyone everyone looks at these conflicts the same way.

NATO forces in Poland are nothing even remotely like what would be needed for an invasion. It would take an idiot to look at them and see an aggressive threat.

Re #2:

They weren’t threatened by defensive weapons in Cuba. There were defensive weapons in Cuba for decades and the US didn’t care.

The US was threatened by the presence of OFFENSIVE NUCLEAR IRBMS AND MRBMS IN CUBA.

Or do you not even know the basics of what happened during the Cuban Missile Crisis?

Re #12:

You're trying to suggest that 'defensive' weapons near Russia cannot be used offensively? That USG/NATO doesn't have nuclear capabilities?

What US nukes are being transported to Poland?

There are no nuclear warheads being emplaced or even planned to be emplaced in Poland or any other Eastern European NATO member.

And no, missile defense systems, like the US has planned to put in Eastern Europe cannot be used offensively. Does knowing that very basic piece of military trivia make me a “neocon militarist”? Do I have to have no ****ing clue what I’m talking about like you do to not be one?

(Also nice to see you continuing your cowardly practice of not quoting people)

What US nukes are being transported to Poland?

I didn't say US nuclear weapons are being transported to Poland, so why are you asking me this question?

You are making references to the Cuban missile crisis are you not?

Then you should understand the huge difference between these two situations.

He doesn’t. Because in his mind, anything short of unilateral mass disarmament and total abolishment of a country’s military is “militarism”.

Go for it.

NATO building defensive non-nuclear missile defense sites in Poland is not the same as the Soviets putting nuclear tipped offensive missiles in Cuba.

Do I need to draw a diagram in crayon?

As long as you stay inside the lines this time.

NO! You don't have to be an idiot. You only have to be born a Russian, who went through Russian schools, and who has studied Russian history. NATO, backed by a unified European Union, are a far bigger threat to Russia than anything that has ever existed before, where only France or Germany became the ultimate aggressors.

WE know we are not a threat. THEY do not. What and how they feel matters to them, and can easily be manipulated by Putin, who controls the media.
