What do you think the underlying reason is for the unethical attack on Trump was?

Was it his stated policies? Was it fear that he may actually make the Federal government an efficient organization? You realize we're stuck with the bought out mess that the Federal government was, and now is, until a real reformer comes back into power? Trump tried, but couldn't do it alone, against the powers that be. You saw what they did to prevent reform.

You have no idea of his respect for her. You see some perfectly timed photo that looks "off" and you grab that and run. Much like the fake MSM does with all their sensational headlines that they have to apologize later for.

Well, he did have 16 other Republicans that he beat out that did attack him during the campaign.

Well, if you want to go there, then there is plenty of marital disrespect to go around within both parties.

Actually, I think that's a very interesting question. After the election, I think the Dems were simply so shocked because Hillary (who they were certain would win in 2016) didn't. It created an unbelievable frenzy among them. But that doesn't explain the before the election - plans and schemes.
Then, establishment Republicans had their comfort zone invaded by unique Trump. So, they were startled too, and I bet nearly all of them expected a Hillary win also.
Trump isn't someone who agrees to conformity and being molded. That was disturbing to all career politicians.
But the Dems decided they could just take it so very many steps too far. They were confident they could conspire with the media and with the CIA and FBI - and finish off Trump. They overestimated the public's willingness to simply accept their lies and schemes. And Trump was adamant about the lies about him being lies. He fought like crazy - just like anyone with a real backbone would when falsely accused. And they underestimated his strong support which he still maintains. The public saw them as the bad guys (they were right) and Trump as the good guy. The Dems never imagined that would happen.
Now, they know darn well Trump would have a quite reasonable chance of winning again but they can't handle that honest conversation. It's simply too upsetting to them. So they lie and say they're certain Trump couldn't win. They simply can't have a real conversation and simply have to work to convince themselves Trump is toast (while Trump's popularity grows, lol).
Meanwhile, nearly every poll shows not only would Trump win the GOP nomination, but he'd win the election against Biden any of their current top tier. Oftentimes, polls get it right and are just off by a point or two. If deep down they are worried about Trump winning again, they should be because he absolutely could. I think that's precisely why the Trump attacks persist.

And Biden did something even more remarkable, which is defeat the pendulum AND incumbency. His poor standing now is because he is, and always was, further left than Hillary.

Biden was not Trump, and the media and intelligence agencies protected Biden from his son, Hunter's, laptop.
And covid destroyed Trump's amazing economy.

Please, Biden did do anything that even comes close to remarkable.
