I voted for the war on terror, but that is limited to going after those who attacked us on September 11th and not the supposed war on terror in Iraq.

;) Hiya, NP.

I think Global Warming is far more important. My reasons will be ignored.

Good luck trying to control global warming, or even putting a dent into it.

But, but, but, according to the Center on Environmental Quality, global warming is highly dubious!

(I'm kidding.)

I wish it was that simple but I believe that even if we took Bin Laden out there will be someone there to take his place.........We need to wipe out all terrorists......

If a democracy can be established in Iraq and I believe it can then when have and example for all the countries in the middle east...........

Both are equally important.

The war on terror has taught the world that the United States is on the path that Hitler took Germany down during World War II.

It all started with nationalistic lies just like the Nazi political campaign. Our country then swiftly invaded 2 countries in German 'Blitzkrieg' fashion (we called it shock and awe). Now back home our so called 'liberal' media and the religious right is spreading hateful opinions of gays and democrats. Massacres of POW's in Afghanistan. The death of a very liberal senator, Paul Wellstone. The smear campaign of political opponents, I don't doubt that the Bush administration would kill these people if they could get away with it. The first appearance of prison camps were people are being held for being 'enemy combatants', though because they weren't wearing uniforms the Geniva Convention doesn't apply (of course it's an atrosity the second and a captive american get punched in the face). All ending up with secret prisons where torture is being performed (IMHO the most terrible act one human can perform on another).

Global warming is a sure sign of our environment being ruined by greenhouse gases. The climate will change and we can expect even more devestating storms in the future. It is currently being ignored by several countries including the U.S.. This could be changed, we currently have the technology and the unemployeed work force. We just happen to be under the rule of an idiot king and his conniving cabinet of ruthless scoundrels.

Global warming is a myth. War on terror is real.

Um...okay, whatever you say

Anyway, I voted for the threat I know is real, not the one that's in fashion this week. Terrorism is real and has the potential to escalate infinitely. Global warming is a fact, but not neccessarily the fault of man and has always been a totally natural occurence every other thousand times it has happened in the last million years or so. I'll take the problem that we can actually do something about.

That wasn't meant for you, skil. I should've quoted the post before you ;)

global warming is not a myth. But theres not much we can do to stop it i think. Same with the war on terror. The idea of wiping out all terrorists is absurd (as suggested by navy pride). Its pretty much part of an endless war on crime. Atleast the government did well in changing the focus to a war on islamic extremism (much more feasible and a lot more relavent).

I agree.....The same whacked out environmentalists who are crying about global warming today were crying about a new ice age in 1972..There is big money to be made if you can scare the American people about global warming.......

It's not a myth, it is happening. But it is something that occurs naturally. Here, this link should show you, it does happen.

I do have a problem with the climate models that show we will all be either roasting or drowned in the next 50 years. The weather is not that predictable.

Skill: I agree....

Yeah because you guys OF COURSE know so much more about the enviorment then scientists or hippies, as you call them.

I think there are two answers for this

Short Term: War on Terror

Long Term: Global Warming

Take it to the conspiracy forum, I've heard enough of that crap. You should read up on German history in the 1930s, you might learn a thing or two.

Please, enlighten us as to what these lies are.

Afghanistan was controlled by one of the most backward, brutal regimes in the world. The Taliban openly supported Islamic extremism and harbored al Qaeda. As for Iraq: In retrospect it's easy to criticize knowing what we know now but before we invaded, the evidence for Hussein having WMDs was overwhelming. He was a vicious tyrant who slaughtered hundreds of thousands of his own people and he didn't belong in power. Hitler on the other hand invaded Poland to expand his Aryan empire across Europe and eradicate the Jewish population. I see no connection whatsoever.

Who in the media, outside of Fox News and conservative radio, are spreading these opinions? (BTW... I eat up democrat bashing for breakfast, lunch and dinner) Christians and Republicans receive the exact same treatment from the left.

You act like this is something new.

I won't argue with that but we're living in a different time my friend. Our enemy is far from conventional. Would you say it's wrong to torture one nutjob to save the lives of many innocents?

And what do you propose we do to stop the warming of our atmosphere? Build a cosmic planet moving machine capable of stopping the oscillation of Earth in it's orbit? We could halt every greenhouse gas emission in the world and the planet would still get warmer.

Work force? Have you seen the average unemployed person? What exactly can the Bush administration do to put them all to work? Implement socialism and descimate the economic progress that's been made since his tax cuts?

How did I say I know more? And when did I call scientists hippies? I would hope you do know that there are arguments on both sides and it hasn't yet been proven.

I think it is an educated theory but not yet a scientific law. You do know that its not a law yet right? Just a theory. Much like evolution is a scientific theory.

Also I agree with your lower portion.

I shall not respond to that as there is no camparison.......Global Warming "a theory" War on Terror "factual".....as I do not agree with the war on Iraq.....nothing to do with the war on terror.

Established? Established?

I guess then If I wanted to establish my johnson in the orifice of some random woman.... it wouldn't matter if she wanted to be established, by your standards, eh?

I guess I should lie and say that her orifice needed to be established because it posed a great threat to the sanctity of mankind.

However when I found out that such sanctity was a zealous lie I decided that, since I'm such a knucklehead, I'll just do it anyway and claim that I'm liberating her.

Woops... nope... sorry it had nothing to do with national security. My brothers and sisters are dying anyway. I don't care. Let's just kiss the ass of the numbskull administration and avoid thinking for ourselves in all cost. We went there to liberate them sons a bitches... and by god if we can't liberate them then we'll just blow them all to hell, instigate their ability to blow us all to hell... and then all of the rich elite neo-con scumbags will take the OIL and further parade our sadistic will amongst the concerned yet unwitting masses.

What is the relationship between the war on terror and global warming?

Good question

This entire thread is an intellectual quagmire to begin with. NavyPride knows this. This thread was not created by the virtue of any type of sincere inquisition. If by some highly irrational conjecture this thread were to be sincere then it would only indicate that NavyPride is out to lunch and is never coming back. I'm giving NavyPride the benefit of the doubt here in saying that this thread was created upon the fallacy of his cognition... not upon the complete and utter lack of understanding in motive that would compel someone of such psychosis to attempt to relate such ideals in comparable terms.

Firstly, There was actually no evidence that there were WMD's in Iraq. The UN sent in weapon inspectors and they found nothing. When the Bush administraton created a phoney document stating that Saddam was trying to buy uranium from Nigeria, investigations proved this claim false. There was no evidence whatsoever.

Second, a cosmic planet is actually not needed. All Bush needed to do is sign the Kyoto Treaty. The Kyoto Treaty asked all nations to reduce industrial pollution by 5%, and every nation signed it except the one that pollutes the most and is most responsible for global warming, America.

third, that's an inaccurate stereotype. Most unemployed workers come from poor families that couldn't afford to give their kids a good education.

Lastly, what economic progress? Wasting billions on war? Increasing the national debt and deficeit almost twice? I don't know about you, but to me that doesn't sound like progress.

Absolutely nothing, which is exactly what I said. I think you're barking up the wrong tree.

She has a tendancy to do this. Just ignore it.

HOWEVER, I DONT THINK NAVY PRIDE WAS TRYING TO RELATE THE 2; I THINK HE WAS TRYING TO FIND OUT FROM THE PEOPLE WHICH WAS MORE IMPERATIVE BETWEEN THE 2.

I could be wrong.
