I had to look that up. Yummy.I found a recipe for Angel Biscuits, which I had never heard of. So we had those with sausage gravy over the top and buttered spinach. Got busy with something else so there was no dessert. Very Sad.
Oh yum. I love lentils.I made a warm lentil salad and a roasted ear of sweet corn.
Knee high by 4th of July, right? No, its not yet local. Someone gave me a dozen ears that they were given but they dont like sweet corn on the cob. Berries are locally ripe and Ive made strawberry shortcake twice already.
The local corn wont be ready for 60 days because its less than knee high now.
I love to sleep with windows open but bugs and heat make it impossible right now.All the rain delayed planting in late May because the fields were mud. It's rained twice today and might yet rain again this evening, but the temps in the +90°s makes it feel like a rain forest. My AC seldom stops running to keep the temp at 72-74°F. I like to open the windows when I go to bed but the heat makes it miserable by the time I get up at 6:30am.
About 70F would do me year around.I'm not a hot weather person and would much rather the temps be in the high 60-70°s
Re: Italian sausage. Disappointed with the store brand I picked up a package of Italian sausage made by a company in Pendleton, OR; in the business of sausage making since 1947. 78 years of making sausage..... it's gotta be good, right? I swear on my copies of Mastering the Art and Fannie Farmer that there was bbq sauce in that sausage. What ever it was it wasn't Italian.Spaghetti with Italian sausage, tossed salad, warm buttered bread.
I need to report: i just tried Aldi's Italian sausage and it is SO much better than any I've had from the ordinary supermarket. The stuff they had was always tough and grisly, and sometimes I added it to my sauce more for the flavoring than the joy of eating it; I was no big fan. But now that I shop at Aldi's once in awhile, I figured where they're German, and Germans are known for their sausage, I'd give their Italian a try. It's so tender you can cut it with a fork, juicy and delicious. I wish I had a bigger stomach, would have loved to eat more.

Yes, i think it was Hill's. Maybe it was a special seasonal recipe for the Pendleton Round Up and Rodeo.
That wasn't very good in spaghetti sauce, was it?Re: Italian sausage. I'm with you on the temps. I hate the heat, summer is my least favorite season, fall is my fav.No, its not yet local. Someone gave me a dozen ears that they were given but they dont like sweet corn on the cob. Berries are locally ripe and Ive made strawberry shortcake twice already.

Sounds good to meEating alone tonight, so I'm making jalapeno and pepperoni pizza with Monterey pepper jack cheese with some leftover dough from yesterday. Will probably put crushed red pepper flakes on to be extra sure.
