For a spell of my morning jog today, every car I passed as I approached a stoplight was black. Now, normally I don't notice such things, but "stars aligned" and there I was jogging and just looking around and it struck me that every car I saw was black.

From that point on in my run I amused myself by noticing the color of the cars. Most of the cars were black.

Would that be the same at some other time of day? I have no idea. I noticed that most cars I saw in my own neighborhood also were black or some color close to it.

And, FWIW:
  • My winter "daily driver" is black.
  • My summertime "daily driver" is dark grey.
  • My SUV is dark green. I drive it only when I'm carrying a lot of stuff or when the weather militates for doing so.
  • My "fun" car is white.
  • The extra car at my mountain cabin is black.
  • The extra car at the shore is an old "white on navy" convertible. It's not titled in my name, but whoever's there at the time uses it. I don't think of it as "mine."
  • I bought a car for each of my kids. Not one of them is black.

Our 2002 Tahoe is (medium?) grey, 1995 Explorer (no longer running) is red, 2009 travel trailer is (mostly) white, 19?? utility trailer is black and 2015 riding lawnmower is orange.

Silver grey
Black and white show more dirt
Red appears to be one the leaders for those involved in car accidents.
Had a red car- 5 accidents- 4 where I was not at fault- fifth accident, wife was, low speed icy abut 500 in damage.

Red of course...is there any other color?:2razz:

Aren’t the Obamas and the Kushners neighbors of yours?

Both cars white, the truck unfortunately is dark blue (shows every bit of dust or dirt).

Toyota calls it “cosmic grey” but I call it black.

ROTFL!!

I completely understand and share your sentiment. About as "fancy" as I get with the names of colors is "peach" or "teal," and that only because those are shorter names than "light orange" and "blueish green" (greenish blue?).

I do not drive our street legal vehicles (because I have no drivers license) but I do spend many hours riding that lawn mower.

Well, okay....

Lawnmowers aren't really what I had in mind, but I suppose if that's what you use for transportation "to and fro," it is....Your primary vehicle is thus orange. TY for participating in the thread.

My car is brown. Not tan, or beige. It's brown. I hated it at first, but now I love it. I call it the "big rolling turd."

1. I'll share my 1965 Imperial when it's finished, I want to make a good impression, but it's black...and currently inoperative.
2. 2007 Prius - GOLD, I didn't really care what color it was when I bought it, I cared about getting 45-55 mpg.

3. 2013 Volt, belongs to daughter, dark slate grey

4. 2018 Chrysler Pacifica, aka "Miss Ruby" - Ruby red, because Miss Karen loves that color. :)

I also have my eyes on a 1940 Chev down the street, still trying to talk the guy down a bit, it needs a lot of work but it actually runs rather well, I just wouldn't want to take it on the freeway because the safety equipment is not modern enough.
I wouldn't feel scared to take it down to the donut shop, though.
It's BLACK, well...sort of if you don't count all the patchy patina and paint wear. It was originally very black though.

My son inherited his sister's 2006 Scion Xa, it's RED...and boring, but reliable.

I chose the grey option in your poll and simply elected to list the the multiple vehicles (including towable trailers) that we own.

Oh shut up. Who ****ing cares?

Not if you ask Miss Karen. She loves Candy Apple Red cars.
I could probably buy a "Walter White Breaking Bad" Pontiac Aztec, which Karen SWEARS she wouldn't allow in our driveway but if I had it painted to match our Pacifica, she might relent and say it's not too bad after all.
And the funny thing is, as ugly as they were, they are beautiful next to a Nissan Juke.

But for some stupid reason, people think those are "cool".

I think Walter White's car was ugly but in reality they ARE cool.
