Bad takes exist on all sides. Maybe you are on your side because it has the least bad takes but no one is right all of the time. Maybe you're a conservative who opposes government regulation, yet you groan whenever someone on your side denies climate change. Maybe you're a Democrat who wishes that Biden would stop saying that the 2nd amendment outlawed cannons. Maybe you're a socialist who wishes that your fellow comrades would stop simping for Gadaffi. Maybe you're a free market advocate who wishes that those on your side would stop simping for Pinochet. Whatever it is, you might have some pet peeve with your side.

I doubt everybody will follow the unofficial rules and only criticize their own party but I will. My biggest complaint about the Republican Party is that they don't seem to care anymore about the national debt and deficit....especially the debt. It's like nobody cares anymore. Maybe everybody knows the problem is too big to fix and they've given up. This will not end well.

My pet peeve is not party specific. It involves all the accusations of "liar".

There are myriad reasons to misstate "facts". Misspeaking, misspelling, poorly informed, etc.

I don't get the knee-jerk reaction to errors or differences being immediately characterized as "lies" or "liars".

You asked.

“Dems are the real racists/fascists/etc.”

What your aim seems to be is to label people by their ethos.

I am not anything, really. I have voted at both ends of the spectrum, worked for both right wing and left leaning candidates. I continue to rate Eisenhower as the greatest president in the second half of the century; Jimmy Carter was an incompetent buffoon, and Reagan was vastly over-rated. JFK was a failure and Johnson a simpleton.
In the end, despite eight years of heaping criticism on Barack Obama, I have to admit he was a good president; at least he had balls. And class.

Americans, I believe, make a fundamental error in buying into the party's 'them or us' attitude, the middle is far more comfortable.

It is the old 'divide & conquer philosophy. It leads to 'enemy making', dividing neighbor against neighbor. "You have a lawn sign of Ass Hole of the Demonic party so I'm going to put up this sign for Dip Shit of the Refusal party. So there! (Trust me, they're all dipshits.)

But what you all should be doing is throwing block parties and parent & kid baseball games. It's a really cool world out there beyond the fog of doom forecast by politicians. Stop letting them dictate how you live and start dictating how THEY live, which is way too ****ing high off the hog.

Excellent point!

They are supposed to go to D.C. to work for us.

Not to compete to see who can get an invitation to the hottest social events.

Understand that the Texas legislature meets only a short time every year.

Wish our California legislature and the federal legislature would do the same.

If they sit all year, they feel that they have to do something, which is often just a lot of mischief.

I am not a huge fan of identity politics and wish we would go back to the colorblind 90s.

"I continue to rate Eisenhower as the greatest president in the second half of the century" "Reagan was vastly over-rated" yep. GW and Trump are equals......not too good.

Barack Obama was disappointing and was treated too often nasty by racists. Clinton was disappointing which I did not realize until his second round as president

JFK never got to finish ........

“We need to be bi-partisan and reach out to the Right”

Also, I have serious problems with any Socialist that spends their time defending China or doing anything else Tankie.

It's time for liberal to stop talking about gun control

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for some kinda common sense gun regulation. What we've got now obviously doesn't work, but the RWNJs have a whole playbook dedicated to using that single issue to keep liberals out of office. Add that to the fact that anything along the lines of real change in that issue will be decades in coming I believe it's just time to give it a rest. Take that talking point away from the whack-a-doodles.

To people on the left:

-Stop saying ACAB. Really? Then who's gonna arrest trump? Who's going to arrest violent criminals? Do you want anarchy?
-To some of you, stop singling out corporate influence in politics as if it were the primary problem in Washington. It's not. Focus on winnable battles such as trying to pass the DISCLOSE Act.
-Finally, stop demanding that social justice take a back seat to economic justice. (1) We're not going to win on economic justice alone, and (2) social and economic justice are intrinsically linked. You can't have one without the other. This is a both-and fight, not an either-or fight.

I get the feeling that those who unironically say ACAB are well to the left of you.

The left is *terrible* at branding.

The only evidence of which I need offer is "Defund the Police."
