It almost seems that con's are fearful of the end result of the mid term elections. Should the dems be able to gain enough seats in congress would it really be that bad for the cons?
Or perhaps it is that there's the conservatives fear of having all thier "tops" being prosecuted amongst the various indicments.

Who's afraid?

The chances of Dems taking control Senate is almost impossible, and almost so for the House.. there is no chance Dems can take back control.

Is this something you've heard?...Did someone on this forum say this?...

Lets see...

Topic creator's profile clearly states they are a MODERATE and INDEPENDENT.

Is this truth, or a feign at objectivity?

More of just the attitude I feel from self-claimed conservatives both on the site and in real life. Thought not applicable to all cons.

Could you throw out a couple of these examples so the forum can see if they get that same "attitude"?...

It's not that I don't believe you..It's just that I...I...

OK...I don't believe you...:2wave:

If I am afraid it's news to me.

Democrats have lost the last six national elections and we are afraid?

:rofl

Wishful thinking, sparky.

I rest my case.

It's the paranoia, anything goes wrong? blame the libs. Shout match and constant mention of yada yada we're in charge! Almost as if fearing of loosing in the next round.
This is obviously applicable to the extreemist though, as for examples, look no further, aqua just gave one.

That's not paranoia, that's having some fun and expressing ourselves... reason why cons are happier than liberals.

when was the last time the democrats had the executive, legislative, and judiciary?

Speaking only for myself. No fear whatsoever.

I'd like to go on record here as saying that 2004 will be as "conservative" as this country goes for quite some time.

I don't know if Dem's will take back the House or Senate, and heaven help us all if Hillary is the nominee in 08 (-:

Public opinion has been swinging back to progressive philosophy ever since Schiavo.

Katrina, the war in Iraq, Bin Laden's elusiveness, Abramoff, Libby, Bubai, $8 trillion debt and a host of other items are opening the eyes of the single issue "tax cuts for me" voters and their ilk.

None of these issues are going to make voters ask for bigger government. In fact, people are going to want less government when they witness government abuse of power.

During Watergate, you may have said (using this logic) that this scandal would cause America to "swing" liberal. What happened was, we got rid of Nixon, but conservatism became much stronger.

Isn't Cheny/Bush Inc the very representation of big government? Funny how they say one thing but do quite the oppposite.
Fortunately, actions speak louder then words.

It did? interesting.

But here's the thing, it takes more than the Democrats just being retarted for us to win elections, don't get cocky, what we need to do is stick to our conservative principles, because that is something the Democrats can not contend with, our ideology is right their's is wrong, but if we fail to uphold them then the conservative base may not come out to vote in protest.

why cant any 3rd party or independent candidates win!? :boohoo:

Sounds like your conservative principles are both arrogant and conceited.

Actually it did, after Carter nearly destroyed this country we had 12 years straight of Republican leadership, and then after the Clinton debacle 8 more years of Republican leadership.
That is not the argument nor comment I made now is it.
However, though there has been more republicans in office in the last 20 years, why is it then that the country overall is more liberal? Proof you ask? Just look at the 2000 elections, it had to be decided by a conservative Supreme court.

Arrogance and intolerance are destroying this country and making the US the enemy of the entire world. That's not right, that's very very wrong.

Let's also not forget that no liberal democrats have been elected since LBJ (and hence since Watergate). Carter's presidency had a lot of problems - which I don't want to get into - but he wasn't a socialistic liberal as was LBJ. Clinton was moderate. John Kerry never campaigned as a liberal, and niether did Al Gore, because its a sure way to lose big.

He said "our ideology is right and theirs is wrong." Is this what you are refering to? You don't believe this about your own ideology?

They can, but its tough. A plurality system naturally gives rise to two dominant parties. Sometimes there are upheavals, but usually this is done by changing one of the two main parties (FDR in 1932, Reagan 1980, McKinley 1896).

A third party victory can be achieved - look at Perot in 1992. If someone else does a little better than he did, they could win.

The sad part is LBJ had the right idea, let the Germans and the Russians kill eachother fuc/k'em both.

Culturalist imperialism would be a step up for the savages!

I'm not about going Roman to subjecate the masses, I'm for making them realize that we are all from the same species and we all have one single unifying Ideal; . . . freedom!

Actually it's why neither won, they tried too hard to appease the conservative rust/bible belt.

No, I don't, I admit my own ideologies to be wrong at times. Nevertheless tot's claim is very conceited
