Hillary cannot win - period. Too much negative baggage. Sure the two coasts love her but the flyover states detest her and she cannot win without a couple of them. Obama is surely the most appealing candidate - but is the country ready ? Sad to say probably not - Again the flyover states. But what a wonderful VP candidate. Looks grim for the Dems. But the GOP is little better. Nobody seems to be very excited about either of their front runners. BUT - ALAS there is a 900 Lb. Gorillia in the closet and his name is Al Gore. Over half the country once voted for him and many of them REMEMBER. The image that lost him the election - stogy, dull old Al, is gone. With the passionate Global Warming Campaign he has reverted to the old Al Gore many of us remember from his Senate days - and he looks WONDERFUL !!! Is this lost on the back room Democrat moneyed king makers - Are they coming to Al on bended knee and begging him to SAVE them. Perhaps they should be - What do you think?????

I think he may just be too smart.....to want the job anymore. Whoever takes the reigns is in a no win situation, and will either be blamed for the things required to fix this mess we all are left with (too many issues to list), or blamed for failing to do so.

No way, Hell Gore could not even win his home state in 2000...If he had done that we would have never heard of Florida........

It's 2008 now and with his movie he is receiving a lot of popularity. If he decided to run he would have a very legitimate shot of winning.

I don't think so. He's got a lot of temporary popularity, but he's just as worthless as he ever was. There's no way he can beat anyone as powerful as a Clinton or as dynamic as Obama, and considering he lost to Bush, he'd definately lose to a much more dynamic figure, such as a McCain or Giulianni.

He did take the popular vote in 2000 so I wouldn't call him worthless. I also think most Democrats would choose him over the divisive Clinton and the inexperienced Obama.

I hope he does but I doubt if he could even win the nomination........A lot of us believe that when it comes to the environment he is a nut case......

By "a lot", you mean "a vast minority", right?

Here. I'll even give you a Faux News poll. 78% of Americans that believe that global warming is happening (which even the craziest on the fringe accept) believe that it is at least partially caused by human activity. I imagine with a true unbiased poll, that number could very well be in the 80-85% range if not higher.

There is no question that the earth has warmed about 1% in the last 100 years but a lot of experts believe its a natural phenomena and has nothing to do with man......They also believe that Gore has blown the issue way out of proportion for political reasons.............

You don't think he could win the Democratic nomination because of his stance on the enviroment? You're joking right?

A lot of tree huggers would vote for him but to me global warming has been blown out of proportion for political purposes by the radical left. There are much more important issues like the wat on terror for example.........If some rogue country gets a nuke and detonates here in the U.S. we will have a lot more to worry about then so called global warming........

Ignorance is an annoying trait.

Natural Global Warming is necessary to our earth, in fact, if we didn't have natural global warming, our earth would be completely uninhabitable. With natural global warming it stays a steady rate of temperature, until, of course, we come in and trap the heat in the atmosphere with OUR pumped-out gasses, reflecting it back to earth making it too hot, which, as you probably know, will ultimately result in an ice age.

Natural Global Warming is a necessity, man-made global warming isn't.

As for Gore being President: I could dig that. He seems like a smart individual who has undeniable charisma and support. I don't support any of the current major candidates, so I'd like it if Gore went in.

Gore? Charisma? You've got to be kidding! He is the most wooden individual around - except when he is making an attempt to not be, then he is so pretentious it is revolting.

I recall walking out of 4 WTC back in the mid-'80s and there was Al, shaking hands and trying to pump up his early candidacy for Pres. You may or may not recall that during this early run, he touted himself as being a Vietnam combat veteran. Turns out that he was in Vietnam, but only for a relatively short time, and his duties consisted of escorting the press around to various safe areas.

As a Vietnam vet, I kinda' resented that, and haven't forgotten it. Seems to have said a lot about his character then, and it still holds true today.

Gore could win the democratic nomination. But winning the general election is another. People like Gore who are promoting global warming have become zealots to try to convert people to they're way of thinking. And at the same to have not over anything specfic to remedy the calamity that they are predicting. Plus their life styles condraticted what they are telling others to do.

If you are not willing to lead by example then how can you expect others to believe you. Gore has done a good job of attracting the environmental portion of the democratic party. But he has done it at the expense of the other groups in the general population.

I doubt Al Gore would become President in the 2008 election. It's iffy he would even take the parties nomination. Has Gore even said he is interested in running a second time?

Also does anyone have any polls that are credible on whether people would even vote for Gore or not in a 2008 election poll.

So far I am unconvinced he would be elected :)

She could win the nomination but the election is another matter.

The question is, is HE ready?

Sad to say probably not - Again the flyover states.

What about them?
But what a wonderful VP candidate. Looks grim for the Dems.

Compared to the Republicans yes.
But the GOP is little better.

A LOT better, more experience, more accomplishment, actually discuss issues.

Nobody seems to be very excited about either of their front runners.

I think lots of people are interested in lots of them, to early to be "excited" about any one candidtate.

BUT - ALAS there is a 900 Lb. Gorillia in the closet and his name is Al Gore.

Yes he's about 900 lbs now and could pass for a gorillia.

Over half the country once voted for him and many of them REMEMBER.

Wrong, if you tally all the separate state vote tallies over half, barely, were cast in his name. But that tells you nothing about the general population, we have no national vote tally. Each state holds it's own election.
The image that lost him the election - stogy, dull old Al, is gone.

That's not why he lost.

With the passionate Global Warming Campaign he has reverted to the old Al Gore many of us remember from his Senate days - and he looks WONDERFUL !!!

He looks like a pompous *** who engages in hypocracy to scare people into believing his GW hype. He has been totally exposed with his carbon credit scam.

Is this lost on the back room Democrat moneyed king makers - Are they coming to Al on bended knee and begging him to SAVE them. Perhaps they should be - What do you think?????

He wouldn't stand a chance, his own party doesn't want anything to do with him.

I don't think Gore has any interest in running. He has his own interest now and it's not politics. I agree with you about Hilary, but disagree with you about Obama. I think american dems. are excited about him as I am. He has a great shot.

If he thought he could win he'd be interested.

What's so exciting about him? He speaks in great platitudes, but then lots of people can do that. He blew in the debate when it came to our national security and that is the most important issue. In fact Hillary was the ONLY one to give the right answer.
