America leads the way: City Of Livonia To Decide On Charging Residents A Fee For Collecting Tax

It's all they've left to do. They've dreamed up enough wacky schemes to claw as much cash as possible for themselves and their insane 'imperial' projects. Now the EU can tax in its own right, it could have a similar system in place.

The Evil Empire the other side of Britain has already appropriated 150 MILLION POUNDS from us in punishment for not flying their urine-coloured stars. A further 65 BILLION is raked in just for the privilege of being run by these corrupt charlatans, not to mention the fact that EU diktats themselves cost us countless BILLIONS more to implement - usually to our detriment.

On top of this, for example, infamous scandals also include the ruin of British farmers and fishermen just to suit the whims of arrogant apparachiks and malevolent foreign tradesmen.

The EU is an incompetent, megalomaniacal, incompetent and cash-hungry disgrace! NOT A SINGLE PENNY MORE TO THEM!

You seriously need to see a shrink dude.. not everything on this planet involves the EU....

Wait... They want to tax you on paying your taxes? A tax on a tax? That's insane. The EU is messed up.

I reread the first post and nowhere was it said that "everything on this planet involves the EU", so it seems open to question as to who should see a shrink.

But of course it is the custom of the Left to accuse any dissenters as "mental" or "insane" and this has included the National Socialists of Germany, the USSR and Communist China.

You're following in the footsteps of some quite infamous people, PeteEU, and there's no doubt you'd literally follow them today.

No..

The EU cant collect taxes without serious treaty changes. Heck even today, it is the member states that collect customs duty on goods that enter the EU area, not the EU it self. There is no EU "tax man" per say. Taxes are and will remain the prerogative of the member states.

Plus the original article is about a freaking US city that is doing it... absolutely nothing to do with the EU.

In fact the many links and videos have absolutely NOTHING to do with the OP original article what so ever, but are the same links he pushes in pretty much every thread he starts.

Have you even read the original article? It is about a town in the US.. now unless something strange happened over night and the US joined the EU... then that town is no where near the EU. So next time how about you actually read the original article he bases this on and stop the kneejerking defensive action? It only makes you look stupid.

No, nothing to do it, aaah. Except the bits about tax and the EU being a corrupt, incompetent yet power-hungry undemocratic monolith. I wouldn't put a tax tax past the EU. And as I say, now it's able to tax if it pleases there are no doubt extra admin costs to collect or run the tax collection, whoever they get to impose them.

It only makes you look stupid.

No wonder the moderator has to keep stepping in.

Perhaps the connection is how governments, of whatever size, will find new and exotic ways to get money from working citizens and can establish laws to that effect without the consent of the governed. The EU is an excellent example of a people being over-governed and over-taxed and it's a problem, to greater and lesser degrees, facing all the democracies. This is largely due to politicians to politicians making promises their successors can't possibly keep.,and people voting for these programs with an "I'm all right, Jack" attitude.

Western Europeans often felt they could get off the hook in their constant harping on the United States by saying that what the US did effected everyone. Well this is also true of what the EU does, as well as its sister in crime, the equally corrupt, inefficient and inept bureaucratic boondoggle, the UN. That same argument could be used here.

It is the responsibility of the individual to resist big government, not embrace it. Surely Europeans must understand that by now. Right?

For a continent of 'enlightened' people who still view the Roman and Napoleonic Empires with romance, it's not surprising. And throw in the hypocrisy of a people also viewing the far less oppressive British Empire with unbridled scorn and you get a collective mental state which you'd be lucky to set anything straight by.

No wonder there's complacency in the face of the threatened caliphate and general demands for endless concessions.
