What’s with this nonsensical bullshit that some say Obama was “born in Kenya”.

First off, everybody knows that I’m a conservative here. So please don’t assume because I make this statement that I’m not one. Secondly, Obama being “born in Kenya” is just as much nonsense as “we faked the moon landing” or “9/11 was an inside job” and all the rest of the idiotic conspiracy theories. Yes I do think that Alex Jones is an idiotic lunatic. (Alex Jones endorsing drinking strange products like drinking bone juice only further prove that!). And even if Obama actually was born in Kenya, he has an American mother; therefore he was still eligible to run for president. But there’s also too much evidence to support that Obama was born in Hawaii.

What the heck! I thought that they edit the swear words here! I don’t want to get in trouble because I thought they censor these.

Eman, I believe I agree with everything you said.

Having said that, I do believe that many people who believe those things are sincere and are good people. I just disagree with them on things like that.

Not since the upgrade have I seen the sensor, but I usually use the asterisk myself.

You can edit without a label on your post here any more.

Don't worry about it, Eman--we understand.

I feel like I just stepped into a time machine and got teleported back to 2008.

Yes that was just Trumps racist hoax and the right took the bait and the rest is history. RIP GOP

Didn't we beat this horse dead four years ago, even Trump admitted Obama was born in Hawaii.

This wasn't just some rando, Trump spent nearly all 8 years of Obama's presidency pushing this conspiracy theory because he hates Obama and wanted to hurt his image. It was intentional and malicious.

You'll notice this never happens to white people. The same crew are saying the same thing about Kamala now.

This is absolute nonsense. They didn't do it with a good heart, like they were just seeking the truth, they did it because they're full of hate and wanted to delegitimize the first black president.

This isn't new. They have been saying it since 2008. The current President was one of those who said it.

You've just entered...THE TWILIGHT ZONE...

Rabid, Eman listed several theories, and I was responding to them in general.

Yes, I'm sure the bit about Kenya might have been a favorite of those who simply hated Obama, but what about those who don't hate him but were convinced of it anyway? I'm not trying to put words into your mouth, but certainly you don't believe that everybody who believes the Kenya theory is, by definition, "full of hate."

I believe we landed on the moon, but I'm not going to say that anybody who questions it is a moron. I know a man who is in a high position at one of the largest tech companies in the world, and he thinks we made it to the moon, all right, but were chased away by space aliens, and I'm not kidding. That guy isn't an idiot--he just thinks a little differently that most other people.

Okay, Rabid, maybe that guy is kind of an idiot ( :) ), but I can't argue with success. There are just too many very intelligent people who question things like this.

Trying to delegitimize the first black president by claiming he's not a real American, despite loads of evidence to the contrary is fundamentally racist and the vast majority of them knew it was. The handful of people that didn't were just idiots.

I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. I don't think it's ever "idiotic" to ask questions. Being the "first black president" was immaterial to the question of where he was born, When Obama's grandmother said she remembered seeing him being born in Kenya, it was only logical to ask even more questions about it.

Yes, I'm totally convinced he was born in the U.S., but I think it would be grossly unfair to throw a "racist" charge at everybody who has ever asked the question.

But again, we can disagree. :)

all he has to do is show his birth certificate! the real one!

An intelligent approach is to say that there is no proof that the Honorable Barack Obama was born in Kenya.

We should not, however, demonize those who think that he was.

Maybe someday it will be revealed that he was.

Many things that we believe to be true today may prove to be false tomorrow. (For example, we may or may not be handling this COVID-19 tragedy correctly.)

Do people really still care about this?

Or is it just easier to talk about than current events?
