You only get a reduction in taxes paid, if the rental property were unrented (No income), you would not get the reduction.
It does make a difference!
You mentioned the oil depletion allowance, in rental property, this would be like when you put on a new roof
that costs $30,000, you are allowed to deduct portions of that $30,000 each year for the next 20 years, in a depreciation schedule.
The deduction only applies if there is a taxable income to deduct from.

“The energy independence is supported by a supply-chain dependency policy. This a huge risk.”
Blanco was not only referring to rare earths, but said “normal things” such as metallic shafts in turbines, 95% of which are sourced in China.

I simply said that you didn't read the article.
It isn't that green energy isn't sustainable, which you seem to gloat about, it's that the Chinese are dumping, just like the Japanese dumped steel in the 1980's.
