I just got back from infiltrating a Socialist meeting. Their meeting hall was almost full, and I have it on good authority that there are weekly meetings all over the country, even in the smallest villages and towns.

I was surprised at how lax their security was. No one asked me for ID or even seemed concerned that I might report on my experience. They are so confident about taking over that they don't even fear exposure. Obviously the Socialist leader is too busy to come to the meetings in person, so one of his highly trained deputies always runs the meetings and always brings a message from him.

Each week, the subtle, radical anti-Capitalist message is disseminated to the "faithful." This week was typical. The deputy spent a half hour talking about "Love thy neighbor as thyself."

This is apparently one of the guiding principals of Socialism, and while there are many different versions of Socialism around the country and the planet, almost all the different groups hold this as a core Socialist value. Scary.

. . .

The purpose of the weekly meetings is to figure out ways to further the Socialist plot of feeding the hungry, clothing the naked and visiting the sick, because the leader said, "Whenever you do this for the least of my brothers, you do it for me."

Instead of telling people to lift themselves up by their bootstraps, he thinks people should help each other.

Sheesh! Try to run a bank, an automobile company or an oil company that way. Everything would be a mess. They wouldn't run like the well-oiled machines they are today.

Lucky for us, many of the people who go to the meetings and sit in the front row are just pretending to be Socialists. Many of those people are on TV, saying the exact opposite of what the leader says, even as they invoke the leader's name.

They keep saying that this is a Socialist country, founded by Socialists, even if the leader would disagree with almost every word out of their mouths.

. . .

The real question is: Why do so many people fall for the Socialist philosophy? Can't they see that loving thy neighbor is what's wrong with this country?

Can't they see that loving thy neighbor is what's wrong with this country?
Huh?
Loving thy neighbor isn't what's wrong with this country. Providing for the less fortunate isn't what's wrong. What WRONG is the way these worthwhile programs are abused. Combine that with a Congress that's USING these programs to buy votes, and ya' got a great big mess.

It's a shame the political process is stifled so badly out of ignorance. Them dam socialists spending money on the people in social programs.. completely ridiculous. Imagine healthcare being seen as something to buy votes with? or portrayed as that. Well we can tell one thing that has been bought..

apparently the GOP is scoping up a lot more money this time around. I guess when you slobber over big oils boots, kill a public option on healthcare promise more tax cuts.. etc this is what happens. US Chamber doubled its contribution .. big money is going over to their buddies on the hill. Libertarians should be outraged, err wait maybe they support that sort of thing.

United States Chamber of Commerce - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The US Chamber of Commerce has emerged as the largest force for lobbying in America. It spent $91.7 million on lobbying in 2008, and $144.5 million in 2009, up from $18.7 million in 2000. The Chamber's lobbying expenditures in 2009 were five times higher than the next highest spender: Exxon Mobil, at $27.4 million.[17] The Chamber had more than 150 lobbyists from 25 different firms working on its behalf in 2009. The major issues that it advocated on were in the categories of torts, government issues, finance, banking and taxes.

Very interesting post.

Makes me wonder . . . if they're not bribing officials with any of that $91.7 million, what ON EARTH are they spending it on? I wonder if these lobbying groups have to account for their spending. It would be interesting to know.

Good lord.

There is a vast difference between private charity, freely and willingly given, and government-mandated wealth redistribution or general economic activity.

Right.

Because, as you know, Jesus wanted everyone to take care of each other and help each other and he specifically said "Oh, except if you form a democracy and control the government, then of course, screw them all." It has to be in there someplace.

Ultimately, I don't think there really is. It is just something people tell themselves.

I don't need to look you will not post anything negative about Obama or the dems

Yeah I'm sure you get your daily dose of bias from fox news.

Did you decide to ignore the difference between something done freely and willingly, and something done under threat of force?

BTW, I'm glad to hear you're such an expert on Jesus... what school is your doctorate in theology from?

If we, the people, through the government we elected, choose to do something, how is that "under the threat of force"? Is everything our government does wrong by that standard? Does every time you lose a vote and are in the minority mean that you suddenly are in a tyranny? If a church votes to help the poor it's OK but if a country does it's not OK? What kind of double standard do you have here?

It's from the University of Sarcasm. I don't think you'd meet the minimum qualifications for entry, though.

Consider your sarcasm duly under-appreciated.

We don't live in a pure democracy. We live in a Republic with a limited government and a written constitution. Just because a majority favor something does not make it right. Voting to plunder the prosperous at gunpoint and give it to those who, in quite a few cases don't even TRY to get ahead, is a world of difference from voluntary charity.

To say otherwise is most disingenuous.

I'm a little confused by this "social justice" thing Obama, his followers and his administration are all about. Now they want religion part of government policies?

Jesus wasn't political. When he said to help others, he didn't mean "pass a bunch of laws forcing people to help others". He understood that giving your time and money freely is not just good for those you're helping, but good for YOUR heart too. Forcing someone to give doesn't change their hearts, only their paycheck.

The fact that a portion of my taxes are going to help those who have less than I do is one of the main reasons having taxes does not bother me.

Would you give if it weren't taken out of your taxes?
