Hope there will be enough votes in the house.

The Senate is expected to vote this week on legislation to codify same-sex marriage and, more importantly, the bill has enough GOP support to pass, HuffPost has learned. “We have the votes,” a source close to negotiations confirmed Monday.
A bipartisan group of senators has been trying for months to pass a marriage equality bill to protect same-sex and interracial relationships. The House passed its own legislation in July, but that proposal stalled in the Senate, where some Republicans raised concerns that it would stifle religious liberty.

Those "Concerns" always remind me of some people who don't like a certain type of vegetable.
"I don't like that asparagus one bit. That crap shouldn't be on the shelf."
You know, some of us don't like certain things in life but we just Suck-it-up. :)

Shortly after Roe vs Wade was thrown aside Senator Cruz went on the record to state that gay marriage should be left to the States.

Federal legislation is necessary to protect it, and there are enough votes in the House and Senate to get this to Bidens desk.

It's already codified by SCOTUS decision. Based on equal rights - a sound basis, unlike Roe.

Hmmm..... What right specified in the constitution is equal? Is there a right to marriage somewhere in your version of the constitution?

WAIT A MINUTE!!

ONLY RINOS would vote for this bill. No decent straight white Christian would. LGBTQ exist only to "groom" our kids.

This is immoral and this is an outrage!

What kind of country is the U.S. turning into when women are allowed to make their own reproductive choice, where people are allowed to love who they love, where elections are rigged and stolen, and where those under 30 are allowed to vote?

MAGA!

I don't have an issue unless it cost taxpayers money

Roe v. Wade was a SCOTUS decision too. Then a new partisan SCOTUS decided to change it's mind on that decision.
Thiis is why MY ideal SCOTUS would be neither Left nor Right. It would have 3 loony Lefties, 3 rabid Righties, and 3 LIBERTARIANS to keep Either group of lunatics from seizing control.

Funny how it wasn't codified by SCOTUS BEFORE 2015. Rights like these can't be taken for granted especially when you have right-wing justices openly questioning the Obergefell decision.

Not sure what your point is - was same-sex marriage ever brought to the court before 2015? Obergefel is based on solid constitutional foundations.

You are fine with freedom as long as it doesn't cost? Whatever happened to "Freedom isn't free"?
what the **** does that with me paying for a same sex couple wedding or something like that, don't respond with a stupid post

SCOTUS has shown itself to be unreliable after the abortion decision.
Abortion was never a protected Constitutional right. It was a bad decision in 73 and it got fixed. The states now can do as they please. The loony left just doesn't take the law into account, they lie and BS for ever goofy decision they can't get legally. Now the SCOTUS gave them the abilty to make a legal decision in each state.

That is certainly an opinion

Does the federal government have the power to codify abortion access nationwide?

How crazed the left is. Boys can be girls, killing babies is OK. Criminals are the victims, hardworking middle class workers should pay for the college education of doctors, lawyers and gender studies candidates.
